Yamanakako Panorama-dai is a hidden gem that offers one of the most breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and Lake Yamanaka. This observation deck left an indelible impression on me, and I'm eager to share my experience.

The highlight of Panorama-dai is undoubtedly the panoramic vista it provides. The unobstructed view of Mount Fuji towering majestically over Lake Yamanaka is simply awe-inspiring. It's a sight that captures the essence of Japan's natural beauty, and it's particularly stunning during sunrise and sunset when the mountain is bathed in warm hues.

The observation deck itself is well-designed, with ample space for visitors to enjoy the view comfortably. There are also binoculars available for a closer look at the details of Mount Fuji and the surrounding landscape.

One of the things I appreciated most about Panorama-dai is its accessibility. It's easily reachable by car, and there is ample parking available. Additionally, the area is well-maintained, providing a clean and pleasant environment for visitors.

Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photographer, or simply someone looking to be inspired by the beauty of Mount Fuji, Yamanakako Panorama-dai is a must-visit destination. It's a place where you can connect with nature and experience the awe-inspiring grandeur of Japan's iconic peak in...

In addition to the stunning view of Mount Fuji, this high place offers a variety of other experiences that make it highly recommended for visitors. The surrounding area is peaceful and tranquil, providing a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The walk up to the viewpoint is easy and can be completed by most people, with the option to stop and take breaks along the way. As you make your way up, you'll pass through beautiful forests and catch glimpses of the surrounding landscape.

Once you reach the place, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, as well as the surrounding lakes and mountains. The sunset and night views are particularly spectacular, with the changing colors of the sky providing a stunning backdrop for photography.

Beyond photography, this high place is also an ideal spot for outdoor activities such as hiking. Visitors can also enjoy the fresh mountain air and take in the natural beauty of the area.

Overall, whether you're a nature lover, a photographer, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, this high place is a must-visit...

Lone Japanese maples (momiji・モミジ・紅葉) located at the edge of a tight curve on Prefectural Highway 730 next to the parking lot of the trailhead where you can take a hike to the peak of Mt. Myojin (明神山)in Yamanashi Prefecture.

The early evening sun lit up this scene perfectly! It is possible to catch this shot with Mt. Fuji in the background, but you will have to be very patient (or arrive very early) and wait for a clean shot with no cars, motorbikes, or people in the shot.

After climbing to the summit, you can head down to Lake Yamanakako, which is only a six-minute drive from the trail head, or head in the opposite direction and visit the Fuji International Speedway, which is only a 15-minute drive from the trail head.

Highway 730 is a twisty road with tight curves and steep inclines and is the main mountain pass between Lake Yamanaka and Fuji International Speedway. This highway seems to be very popular among motorcycle riders and sports...

Panorama-dai has free but limited parking, and there's even a toilet nearby, super convenient. The view from up there is really nice. You can see Lake Yamanaka, all the little houses below, and on a clear day, Mt Fuji in the background. When I went it was cloudy, so I didn’t see much of Fuji, but the view was still worth it. The whole place looks like a miniature model from above, pretty cool. Just a heads-up though: there are wild blueberries or some kind of berries on the ground, and if you’re not careful, they’ll stain your car’s white carpet or your clothes, especially if your kid walks over them and you carry them after. Happened to me lol.

The view is quite nice but if you’re going for sunset it’s not a spot for winter since the sun sets behind mountains and it won’t look pretty unless the clouds turn red. This is definitely an autumn and spring location. The parking is also very limited and technically you cannot park on the side of the road which people still do so drive slow and avoid peek times. I think it looked nice during the day as well so go then if you don’t want to do U turns back to back finding a spot to park.
