Jigokudani Hot Spring Geyser — Attraction in Yamanouchi

We came across Jigokudani Funsen Fountain while hiking to the famous onsen monkey park, and it turned out to be an unexpected highlight of the trip. This natural hot spring geyser shoots steam and boiling water into the air, creating a dramatic and almost otherworldly scene in the middle of the forest.

The trail leading to the fountain is peaceful and scenic. Surrounded by trees and the sound of nature, the sudden burst of steam and bubbling water feels surreal. It’s not far off the main path to Jigokudani Yaen-Koen, so it’s easy to make a quick stop, and honestly, it’s well worth it.
