Satoyama Garden — Attraction in Yokohama

Two of my primary objectives were met when I chose to visit Satoyama Garden here in Yokohama, Japan: 1. No entrance fee; and 2. Pet friendly.

Yokohama city took the extra effort to ensure that the park was mostly barrier free making it easy to bring family or friends who rely on wheelchairs to get around.

The slopes in this shot are not that steep, making it easy to push a wheelchair (or a toddler's stroller) around and allow your family member or friend to enjoy the flowers up close!

Satoyama Garden located adjacent to Yokohama Zoological Gardens Zoorasia is a city park accessible via bus from Nakayama Station on the JR Yokohama Line, or from Mitsukyou Station on the Sotetsu Line.

Access to the park is free and pet-friendly, and wheel-chair accessible. Parking costs a flat fee of ¥1,000 yen for all-day-parking.

The park also includes food trucks selling ice cream and snacks near the entrance, and tents are set up to sell garden related items, including small live plants.

It's very wide, spacious, and green. There is an obvious effort to keep the park as green as possible. It was very relaxing there and the flowers are gorgeous. But it's not a place for multiple visits. Yet. I don't read Japanese and made the horrible mistake of sitting down on a patch of green that was off limits. Off limits space signs should be in multiple languages. The adventure course is too expensive; hopefully the fee is for unlimited time. Access to the park is inconvenient for those taking public transport. It's an ok place to visit...

山下公園を散策した際にガーデンネックレスYOKOHAMA2025という雑誌を目にして、里山ガーデンさんが掲載されていたので伺わせていただきました😁

3月30日、日曜日の開園前に到着！開園は9時30分です！施設はまだOPENしていませんが、お手洗い等は使うことができました😊

私達はお隣、県立四季の森公園の駐車場（こちらは8時30分OPENでした）に止めて歩いて散策しながら向かいました！まぁまぁ歩きました😅が、朝の散策は清々しいです！ （ただ、里山ガーデンのOPEN前だと、鯉のぼりがある森の小道は閉まっているので、ショートカットは出来ず、外周園路を延々と歩かなければなりませんでした😅） ズーラシアの駐車場からだと、無料のシャトルバスが出ているみたいです😎

OPENと同時に大花壇へ… 素晴らしいです😍 色とりどりの花達が絨毯の様に敷き詰められています！ 日立海浜公園のネモフィラも感動しましたが、私的には里山ガーデンさんの方が、好みです😍

写真を撮る手が止まりません😅

ひとしきり写真を撮ったり、散策したりと、大花壇を満喫した後、お腹が空いてしまったので、正面入り口広場までもどり、ズーラシアまで行って食事をしようかと思っていたのですが、キッチンカーがあったので、こちらで食べることに😎

ガパオライス890円 富士宮焼きそば700円 もちもちポテト700円 ソフトジェラート（コーン）500円（カップは450円） を購入…

ガパオライス… 美味しいです🤤辛さも控えめで、バジルが良いアクセントに！

富士宮焼きそば… 美味しかったですが、量がさほど入っていないので、男性には物足りないかも😅

もちもちポテト… 普通のポテトと考えると、お高いかもしれませんが、こちらのポテトのボリュームたるもの！デカイ！箱からはみでています😅お味も美味しかったです🤤

ソフトジェラート… 普通のソフトクリームだと思ったら、ソフトクリームの下にジェラートが入るそう！私達はマンゴーをいただきましたが、他にも何種類か選べました！ ソフトクリームも美味しかったのですが、私的には下のジェラートが好みでした😍

帰り道は、朝通れなかった、鯉のぼりがある方向へショートカットして帰れました😄
