Rooms: The place is great. Traditional rooms, multiple rooms, great place to interact with other travelers. You will hear stompers though specially kids playing running around. its fine for us though as we have kids with us too so its a really family friendly place. The bath/rest room are shared but they are well maintained and modern so pretty good in my book.
Service: The staff is great, they can help you with what you need so please do not hesitate to ask. They are around early morning until night time, such hardworking staff.
Location: There isnt much around the place unless you really came for Skiing or Snowboarding as its a few minutes walk to mitsumata ropeway. Expect the Bus to be a bit late (10-15min) during winter if you want to go outside. Taxi costs at least 3000JPY to go to the train station. Kids had fun playing around the snow near the accommodation. They have rental and other alternatives outside. Food wise we couldn't get to the resto near but there are some up the mountain in the gondola, however it does lack variety of food. What scares us is if it snows too much and we miss our schedules but all went well.
Overall: Its a great 4 days stay in end of January 2025. Thanks to the staff, definitely...
Read moreI stayed here with my son over Christmas. I choose the location for its access to the best skiing in the area and for providing typical Japanese Inn facilities, but with English-speaking hosts. Pete and Lenore made us (and everyone else) extremely welcome. Having just arrived from the UK, initial thoughts were the place seemed a little tired, with what seemed to be 1970s decor, but I now understand it’s typical and this place isn’t expensive. I got used to the shared bathroom facilities, but the onsen just down the road is a fabulous Japanese experience at the end of a day on the slopes. Pete and Lenore have plans for the hotel and hope to be able to provide evening dining. Presently, breakfast is available and you can bring in your own food for the evening (fridge and microwave provided). Location- wise, this place couldn’t be better. It’s right next to the Mitsumata Ropeway lift station, next to the bus stop for Yuzawa (although last returning bus is early evening - it was just over 3000 yen by taxi) and across the road from a ski hire shop. The skiing was awesome. We happened to have a storm, so a couple of metres of snow fell in the few days...
Read moreHad a great time at at this hotel and skiing on the ski fields that are situated very close. The managers are English speaking, were very friendly and provided excellent service. Rooms were Japanese style with futons. These were comfortable with seperate gender toilets. The hotel is conveniently located near a gondola that allows easy access to the ski fields. Had a great time skiing. Traversed 3 ski fields (easy to navigate across) and returned via a different 5.3km gondola ride - excellent views. The hotel has seperate gender onsens. Really nice public onsen (outdoor and indoor onsens) located a five...
