Mitsumata Lodge — Hotel in Yuzawa

3 days into my ACL surgery, I have to express the GREATEST GRATITUDE to the host - Takuma San and his family, and let all my fellow skiers/ snowboarders know that this lodge would definitely exceed your expectations in so many ways

Room: highly recommend to try their superior twin room which I honestly think is way much better than any room at the Prince Hotel - bigger size, comfy bathroom, and Netflix available on TV guys!!!

Convenience: Mitsumata ropeway and the local bus stop are both right across the road - saving loads of time when riding the gondola / commuting back to Yuzawa station or to Naeba if you want to go for a 1-day trip

Hospitality: delicious breakfast and dinner menu that varied every day during my stay. Coffee and sake also available at the counter, with a huge manga collection to choose from. Takuma San was also very very kind and considerate to drove me back and forth from hospitals/ train stations/ post offices, for which I really can’t thank him enough!

The owner and manager is very attentive and helpful; even though I don’t speak Japanese he used Google translate for all my needs. They also sell vouchers for the public onsen that is adjacent to the rest area (which is a nice 1 km walk down the old town road that parallels Hwy 17) and Kagura ski area at reduced rates. They also just completed a spectacular remodel of the reception area including a nice wood stove, a lounge area, a self-serve pay by the glass sake dispenser, work stations,...

湯沢でのスパルタンレース開催に伴い宿泊しました。 結論から言うと最高の宿泊施設です。スタッフの皆様、当時は本当にありがとうございました。

【全般】 場所は湯沢ICから下りて車で１５分程度でしょうか、看板があるため非常に分かりやすいです。駐車場スペースはみっちり止めて５台くらい？ 中に入るとまず目に入るのは大きめの薪ストーブ、他にも一杯５００円で地酒（日本酒とワイン）が飲めるサーバーなどがありました。

宿泊した部屋は昔ながらの和室で、小さい目のテレビと除湿機が置いてある程度。布団を自分で敷いて寝る感じですね。冬は学生さんなどが合宿で来るんだろうなぁと思いながら安眠できました。

洗面所などは基本的にきれいで、使うのに問題はありません。意外だったのは、ものすごい量の漫画が置かれていたこと。結構最新の物も多いですし、夏冬問わず天気が悪い日は漫画を読んで過ごすのも乙だな～という印象でした。

【印象的なエピソード】 仕事終わりに向かったため、到着が２１時を過ぎる旨を伝えたところ、本来お風呂は２０時で締めてしまうが空けておいていただいたり、遅い時間にも関わらず温かく受け入れてくださったりと、非常に気持ちの良い１夜を過ごせました。

また、一泊を済ませていざレースへと思った矢先、湯沢の駐車場が全て埋まっているためそもそも参加できないぞ……？という状況に陥りました。 一縷の望みをかけてこちらのロッヂに駐車場だけでも使わせてもらえないかとお願いしたところ、なんと快諾。既に宿泊が終わっている都合上、なんのプラスにもならないであろう場面で快く手を差し伸べていただけたのは本当にありがたかったです。最終的に車は止めさせてもらい、タクシーでGALA湯沢のレース会場へ（余談ですが、タクシーだと駅まで３０００～４０００円程度かかります。） おかげさまでレースにも参加でき、戻った際はお礼を伝え、ついでと言ってはなんですが近傍の道の駅「みつまた」で使用できる割引温泉券を購入し、絶対にまた来ようという思いで離脱しました。
