I had a wonderful time visiting Zama Yatoyama Park with my dog, Lilo! This pet-friendly park is a peaceful escape, located just 3 minutes from Camp Zama Army Base. One thing I loved is that they provide maps at various stations throughout the park, making it easy to navigate the beautiful nature trails. The trail takes you down to a charming small pond and loops back up, offering a relaxing walk. Lilo enjoyed every moment, and the leash policy ensures a safe experience for all. There were not great numbers of fireflies but it's also not a big area of grass land and it's within a city so you're not likely to get large numbers of the bugs here.
