Shymbulak Medeu Camp — Attraction in Almaty

To be very honest I must appreciate the beauty and the location of Shymbulak Medeu Camp. It’s a beautiful serene place to spend time with your loved ones. The main drawbacks are they do not have a bellman so all the baggage you have to carry all the way to your tent and same for your check-out too so if you have heavy luggage it’s a pain to handle everything especially if you have an infant/toddler the situation becomes a still more challenging because no one is there to actually assist you at the property. Food options are very less for Indians especially vegetarian so that turns you off completely. They have a restaurant named Gogra but the menu looks overpriced as per their menu but still as an experience one can definitely dine there as it’s pleasant and surrounded with green cover and natural beauty. The staff in restaurant are kind and helpful. Tents looks cozy and comfortable at your first impression but then once to start living in it one can realize that the washroom area and wash basin chokes and feels very filthy. They do not provide baby cot and the bed is not extra large so again sleeping peacefully becomes an issue. They do not have proper and safe ventilation in the tent. Also the place is perfect for winter they do not have air conditioner or fan that’s why feels suffocating in summer ( if it’s sunny day ). Breakfast options were very limited. This place has really cozy vibes, we stayed for a day. The place was clean, warm and comfortable. Their staffs were really kind, responsive and helped us a lot during our stay. Since they speak a little English it was easy to communicate and we used translator app whenever necessary. Their rooms are very private, ours was facing the mountains so we had a great view.
