DO NOT GET SCAMMED. I decided to book my safari with Leon safaris after reading these eye catching reviews. To my surprise , my experience was totally opposite. I had the worst safari ever and the staff are completely disengaged. I later did my research and came to realisation that the owner was generating FAKE REVIEWS and all those pictures are from the owners(Catherine maina: ig- maina_catherine254) personal trips and also her google page showing the exact photos in Mejah Geoffrey review as seen on Catherine's google page link below

With proof I have reported it to google I could have posted but google doesn't allow contacts. Catherine maina works at (LALASHE/ZEBRA PLAINS)in maasai Mara.as seen below on one of the reviews(JOSEPH FAMILY:ig-SENTEU.JOSEPH)who is Catherine's Husband and Co-worker at lalashe/zebra plains with photos from work posted on the review in zebra plains with photo posted below "Mejah geoffrey" review showing picture of lalashe maasai Mara
As seen on ig Catherine maina personal trip to MEDINA PALMS and hence the photos posted below on the FAKE REVIEWS as Viola Chela Jones Mellow Mejah Geoffrey PLEASE SHOW US HOW THE 5 STAR REVIEWS CAME ABOUT I've tried initiating calls and emails due to delay and being stranded but the staff is unresponsive and seemed not to care. The company took extra money from us from the driver we were assigned and he was so rude to women which was scary I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW NOT TO DISCRIMINATE NOR SLANDER THE BUSINESS BUT TO HELP YOU CHANGE FOR THE BETTER AS A COMPANY. CUSTOMERS DESERVE THE BEST FOR THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY . IT IS BEST TO CORRECT ONESELF AND CHANGE INSTEAD OF BEING IN DENIAL AND SAYING THINGS THAT DO NOT EXIST . POOR SERVICE WILL DEFINITELY SHOW UP THROUGH OTHER REVIEWS AND PUT YOUR COMPANY AT A BAD...

Read moreThis trip was booked last minute on a bit of a whim in January. I had not found anywhere that I wanted to go to in February and for some reason looked at the Leon Africa website. I then discovered the price comparison graph, where I found out that February is low season, making the camps we had been to last year in high season, much more affordable. Moreover, Kicheche had a 6 nights for the price of 5 offer on, so the germ of an idea was born.
The team was able to confirm availability for 6 nights, but midweek to midweek, which seemed like a bit of a waste of annual leave, so with a bit of juggling, we got a 10 night (on safari, 12 nights including travel/airport) trip at a much more affordable price. It was a bit odd not booking a year in advance, but it shows what is possible.
It was certainly wetter than we anticipated, particularly in Laikipia. The rains in the Mara were a bit more what we expected, although it did rain non-stop overnight on several occasions. I now know why the camps provide Wellington boots and umbrellas! This made for a unique safari, but rain brings its' own set of photographic issues, that we had to learn about and fast.
All of the Kicheche safari camps are very well run and welcoming and this trip cemented in our minds how good Kenya is for safari, particularly...
