Peaceful and comfortable lakeshore camp with great restaurant and nature trails. Included in the price were two four-plates meals, breakfast, park entrance and several hours of guided walks (which came as a good surprise as they were not explicited on the website when we booked). Drinks are extra. The camp is very quiet in its own crater, which is nice to enjoy the sounds of nature (noise and music are only allowed in a smaller camp by the gate outside the crater). Be sure to keep all edible possessions stowed away as monkeys may visit your tent (they managed to squeeze inside ours through a very small opening and took some biscuits). The tents are very comfortable with king sized bed, mosquito nets, and hot showers. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They brought us hot water bottles to warm our bed, along with a kettle tea bags and biscuits. They also helped with the return trip via matatu (minibus). Note that the swimming pool and part of the gardens are currently submerged by the lake (which has risen a year ago to double its size like many lakes in the region). I will probably stay that way...
Read moretl/dr: Interesting enough to definitely visit again.
Google maps might lead you to the wrong gate but good thing is that the right gate is about a km away. Would be nice for them to put a sign there to direct people to the right gate.
Ambience: It was green and quiet with a couple of warthogs roaming around and not a lot of humans.. especially for a Saturday. There’s a really nice view of the lake all round. The place generally feels like it’s on the brink of being run down but is still struggling to survive.
Campsite: Facilities looked like they don’t get a lot of love from the maintenance & cleaning crews. Still looks like a lovely spot to camp though. Cost is 800 per person for camping with your own tent
Didn’t get to try the food but will update once I do.

Read moreGreat 2 hour walk around Crater Lake, currently a an alkaline brown algae infested lake on top of a dormant volcano. Views from the crater rim include Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake.
The walk around the rim also throws up some beautiful views of the rim and surrounding areas including Mt Longonot, conservation areas and farm land.
While the lake itself doesn't currently contain much wildlife, the surrounding conservation areas has a range of fauna including giraffes, Cape buffaloes, zebras, gazelles, warthogs, colobus monkeys and even hyenas if you are lucky.
There is also an amazing array of birdlife including various birds of preys such as buzzards and falcons.
Overall a good little half day trip if near...
