Hyrax Hill Museum — Attraction in Menengai ward

Hyrax Hill Museum is a 5-minute drive from Nakuru town and can be accessed via the Nakuru- Nairobi highway.

You will run into an unpaved road once you take the diversion off the highway, but its smooth and will take you all the way to the museum.

Basically, it's an archeological site and you will learn more about that at the museum.

Was a refreshing visit. There’s a small museum showcasing ornaments and tools used by local communities, the various excavations in the area and animals found on the region. The lady, Anne, that took us around was pleasant and sufficiently knowledgeable. The second part of the visit was a hike to the top of the hill and through the various sites mentioned earlier. lt was a nice experience, top notch basis on the mesmerising views ,hiking trails,the chill mountain vibe,good for hangouts and picnics and i loved that there were small boards explaining the trees and some parts of the museum but l was disappointed that there was no actual representations of the prehistoric things,lack of tour guides and well informed tour guide,poorly maintained nature trails and not labelled you can easily get lost,the tortoise pit also needs to be seriously considered and the tortoise...
