They may even threaten to take you to the police station. The real reason for this is to solicit money. This happened to us.
We respectfully asked the military officers for clarification, as there were no signs at the entrance or information online about such a rule. After talking for a while, they eventually hinted that they could “help” us in exchange for some cash. We asked them to show their military ID, but they refused. We kept insisting that we weren’t aware of any such law and requested proof, but they foolishly responded that it was just a “rule” they were enforcing.
