If you like Vinyl... Well there's a shop selling records and record players. Not something you'd expect at such a market! The records span the whole music genre spectrum; I was amazed to find classical concertos, pop albums, jazz and rock records. The shop owner also sells refurbished records to accompany your Vinyl experience (for the enthusiasts). Besides that there's the typical Kenyan market offering of fruit stalls, food kiosks, nyama choma (roast meat) joints, salons, a supermarket and bakery. There are car wash services run by local boys who is offer to clean parked vehicles at a small fee of (150 Kshs) as you run your errands. Butcheries are in plenty offering meat for commercial and home use - I'd recommend the one in Golf Course building which also houses a supermarket. There's clothes stalls and bag stalls dotting the market. One can get local fried fish (Tilapia and Nile Perch) in the area as well. There's an ATM at the Golf Course building too. Hope you enjoy your shopping...

Once you get into the market, you'll be acousted by a hoard of butchers requesting to sell you roasted meat. Tip 💡it's best to ignore them and simply find the butchery that has the most people. This gurantees fresh meat.
If you're a lady or accompanied with a lady then it will be a hoard of women requesting to braid your hair. Good luck 😉
🙌The market has pretty much all that is needed by regular mwananchi. And the 'nyama choma' there is good plus you get a generous serving.
🥑 However, the true gem of this place is the 'real vinyl guru' record store right next to the butcheries. it's a record store that deals with Vinyl's, antiques record players and cameras and it's just a pleasure to be in for a hippy at heart. The owner is also quite friendly and engaging in every aspect of...
Read moreThis isn't the place to go fancily dressed. Throw on jeans and a T-shirt and get ready to delve into real Kenyan living. The best nyama choma (roast meat) on the planet, numerous chip (french fries) shops, nice clothes and shoes, excellent hair salons esp if you like braids - not the place to come for you're chemical treatment while sipping on champagne - be ready for boiserous self advertising by hairdressers positioned outside the market. It's a market - noisy, crowded, but worth the visit. Like I said, dress casual. There's ample parking, just look for your own spot. Don't let the idle lads take over finding you a spot then insisting on washing your car. You'll pay and they tend to fight each other in front of you. You may need to pay a council parking attendant. The president recently declared the area parking fee free but the attendants don't seem to have gotten the memo😆. Please experience it...
