I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre in Kuwait with my parents during our vacation, and it was a truly wonderful experience that exceeded all our expectations. This incredible cultural destination offers a wide array of exhibits, interactive activities, and educational experiences, making it a fantastic place for visitors of all ages.

The size of the place is quite impressive, and the variety of exhibitions ensures there is something for everyone. The diverse range of topics covered in the different sections made it an enriching experience for my parents and me.

We were particularly impressed by the guest service area, which was very helpful in providing information and assistance throughout our visit. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making our time there even more enjoyable.

Tips for a Comfortable Visit One of the key things to note is that the centre does not have a tuck shop, so it’s a good idea to bring your own water and food for the day. There is a huge underground parking facility, so you can conveniently store your food and water in the car before heading inside. You’ll find water bottles available at the guest service area if you run out, but it’s always a good idea to come prepared.

To make the most of your visit, I highly recommend starting your day early, especially if you're visiting with family. The centre has numerous interactive and engaging displays, so having enough time to explore at a comfortable pace is crucial.

3 kd entrance fee for adults. 2 kd for kids over 2 years old. Kids under 2 years old enter for free. Visitors parking is in the basement. You can buy tickets at the gate. These are valid for a whole day. The center is open from 3pm until 10pm but the last admission is at 7pm. Museums include: fine arts and islamic science, ecosystems, our earth, transportations & robots, human body and mind, and space. Each of these museums is the size of 1-2 buildings which takes roughly 20-30 minutes to quickly see ( a lot longer if you plan on actually learning about every item in the museum). There are laboratories in some museums for kids over the age of 8 years old (those were all closed when we went). Moreover, in every museum there is a section called “experience” where kids can play using games related to the museum (eg scientific games, art games). Some museums have souvenir shops close to the exit. Every building and every floor has toilets for both men and women. Women toilets have baby changing rooms. The place is accessible for people on wheelchairs with plenty of lifts around buildings (and specific handicapped parking close to lifts). Place is massive and in my opinion needs more than 1 day (especially if you have kids who might get easily bored/tired). I have only seen two coffee shops (Starbucks and The street coffee shop). I would definitely eat before going there again. Also, water bottles are banned in museums!!! Meaning that you have to give them to the receptionist every time you enter one of the museums and then collect your bottle(s) when you exit. This in my opinion is horrible as the museums are big and people should be encouraged to rehydrate!! And some need their hot water bottles to make their babies formula milk!!

Having said all of that, I would definitely go there again, especially with the low entry fee. It’s a pleasant place. We went there for the lights show. That was pleasant to watch too. However, it’s only temporary (until 2nd March 2019). Hope people keep it as new and as clean as it currently is for as long...

1)Space - The current to day knowledge was very brilliantly put together. Illustrations of universe, satellites, are depicted. There's a planetarium inside , but you got to pay extra for it.

2, 3 couldn't visit

4. Human Body - The museum starts with areas to warm up your body by small games. Then it explorers more to how different system of your body works. The embryonic stages, and the anatomy of organs are interestingly modelled.

5. Transportation and Robots - Worth visit if you are huge lovers of technology and vehicles. The man made models says a lot of the history, especially of cars of different timeines. Was interesting. The robots area was also amusing with information about latest inventions.

6. Our Earth - Basically tells the story of our Earth. The evolutions, from models of Dinosaurs to , microorganisms, rocks, and the current to day nature, and natural disasters. . the place is covered with lot of information.

7. Ecosystem - I suggest to visit this place last if you're a nature lover. This was so beautiful, illustrating our forests, animals and marine creatures. Felt the aquarium part could do better. But overall, the place gives a lot of ambience to the hot climate of Kuwait. There are no real animals, everything is model. But the way the place is built up is lovely.
