Bait Al Othman Museum — Attraction in Hawally

Bait Al-Othman is a historic museum in Kuwait located in Hawalli. Inaugurated by the Amir of Kuwait in April 2013, the museum is dedicated to the history and culture of Kuwait from the pre-oil era to present time. The museum hosts numerous historical items and antiques of pre-oil Kuwait. Housh (courtyard), diwaniyas, muqallatt, kitchen, living room, master’s bedroom and visitors’ room can all be seen. There are mini museums within the museum such as the Kuwait Drama Museum, Kuwait House Museum, Heritage Hall, Kuwaiti Souq, and Journey of Life Museum.

It's one of the last real Kuwaiti heritage gems that wasn't raised by the Iraqis during the 1990 brutal invasion of Kuwait.

The location is the only problem with this great museum.

But it's worth the drive as it really gets you back to old Kuwait!

I absolutely love this place. If you're interested in Kuwait's histroy and traditions, this place is wright for you. It shows a wide variety of beautiful antiques that truly take you back in time to a simpler yet amazing part of our states history. Tourist can take amazing photos here. When I'm visiting a country I love taking pictures that cannot be taken elsewhere, pictures that are unique to the country, that is something this museum greatly provides. The enterance is really cheap too; I believe it only costs one KD per person. I advise you take a local with you to this museum if possible, preferably old or middle-aged; they wiĺl probably recognize a alot of things and teach you a bit more about thh histroy and uses behind them.
