Enjoyed visiting the Aviation Museum near Riga International Airport, a collection of 40 Cold War-era aircraft, primarily Soviet models, founded by retired aircraft engineer Victor Talpa. MiG and Sukhoi fighter jets, Tupolev airliners, and one of the world’s largest helicopters- Mil 6 are on display. Functions on minimal staff (Victor and a few former pilots), the entrance fee is 10 Euros per person which goes toward the rent and maintenance of this quirky museum. Located 15 min by taxi from Riga Airport’s terminal. Install Bolt Taxi App in advance. Open daily. Visitors may need to call Victor for access in advance. While parents are looking around, kids can play with different toys provided by...

To clarify things; if you're like me and want to see the breathtaking 1977 Tupolev Ту-22М3, this can no longer be viewed from up close. Its location is now by the runway. The strategic bomber can be viewed from waiting area at Gate B8 -- or from the window of your flight departing from Riga -- if you have a window seat on the LEFT side...
