Tickets for the chocolate museum were available without the pre-booking for a party of 6. Unfortunately, chocolate making masterclass and the guide were not available for our visit due to short notice. This, however, didn't make the experience less interesting. There is plenty of information about cocoa and chocolate to learn at the museum. We also have decided to make our own chocolate degustation - we have purchased a really good coffee, box of assorted truffles, and ice cream. The table area in the shop was nice and cool on a scorching day. Overall, it was a very good day out, and i would...

ENG, LV. Not worth going to even for free (but you pay approx 3-4 eur pp), run down basement with some information boards, exposed brick, pipes and cables. If you want to know how chocolate is made and some broad history, just Google it. Go someplace else for value per money. You get one piece of their chocolate sweets per ticket. We bought two tickets with my partner, got two chocs and the cashier accused us of taking three, made a massive deal about it in front of people and didn't apologise when she was wrong.

Their produce is good, but the museum is heavily lacking in all other areas.

Our whole group was unimpressed by this, if anything a bit bitter.

Man būtu kauns naudu prasīt par...

An interesting museum with an exhibition about the history of chocolate, from the Mesoamerican cultures' use of cacao up to today's industrialised production of chocolate. They offer workshops for groups where you can make your own pralines. The premises are quite worn down and it's very much off the beaten path. If you're interested in chocolate, however, this makes for an excellent destination. Oh, and they...

We stopped in on a spur-of-the-moment visit while driving past and were so glad we did. We chose to explore on our own rather than join a guided tour, though a guide during the day would probably make the experience even more insightful. The highlight was definitely the chocolate – absolutely delicious!
