Pie Jāņa — Restaurant in Pūres pagasts

The food was ok, but the service i experienced was really poor. First of all the prices are quite high for the food that i eat imo, meetball soup had hardly any meat in it, but solanka soup was good. At first i asked if i can buy a half portion of garlic bread, and as an answer i received that: we do not split portions. After telling them that i love comming back to places that are flexible, i was told that if i dont like something, i can just leave and go somewhere else. Also the place claims to be open until 21:00, and i arrived there with my family at 20:00, and i was told that its too late to get anything else than soup and salats, because they have too many orders. At 20:40 here was hardly any customers left, and they ciuld easaly serve me. Unacceptable, and next time, as I was told by the waitress, I will look for another place.

I took pork ribs with honey-garlic sauce with fried potatoes on the side. It wasn't delicious. The potatoes were okay, but the ribs weren't good. I guess the combination of honey and garlic didn't work this time. We also waited a long time for our food (more than 40min).

Service was good. Waitresses were polite and very nice. Atmosphere was also good. I liked the swings they have on their territory. It's family friendly, has places outside and inside, but you have to take into account that even if they're not very busy, you'll have to wait...

Heard good things about the place. But my experience is not that great! Took a chicken with cheese topping and french fries. Chicken cost 14 euro and had almost no cheeso on top of it.
