Here also you can see one of the most spectacular views of Mount Kinabalu along the road to Kundasang, 88 km inland across the ridges of the Crocker Range that separates the West Coast from interior plain at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu lies the small townships of Kundasang and Ranau, the 'Market Garden' of Sabah. The cool air provides a suitable climate for fruits and temperate vegetables. The Crocker Range National Park, at 139,919 hectares (1,399 sq.km.) is also Sabah's largest park. Gazetted in 1984, it forms the backbone of Sabah dividing the West coast from the interior region. This area is crisscrossed by numerous trails used by the local Dusuns who stay in scattered and isolated villages. A 3-4 days trek through this area from 5,000 ft. to sea level is an experience not to be missed. An hour's drive or 58km over the Crocker Range along the K.K-Tambunan road at an altitude of 4,000 feet is Tambunan Rafflesia Centre, a 356 hectare Forest Reserve gazetted in 1984.
