Not a Recommended Place for Internship This is a review based on own experience. Basically, I had my internship here for around three months and I would use "disaster" to describe my intern life. Well, this is a place that does not deserve to be called as a "sanctuary", as it houses plenty of exotic animals and there is a lot of animals were purchased from the so called "suppliers". Apart from that, the human resource management here is totally terrible. You might have to work at different departments at the same time whenever they ask you to, because the job scope is never fixed. In their words, they said it is because they encourage multitasking and train the trainees to be more competitive in future but nah, I can say the way they assign tasks is really confusing and unreasonable. Of course, you can try to tell your problems to your superior, but don't expect that they will solve your problems. Another thing is, if you wish to be treated fairly, then you should choose other places for your internship. Frankly speaking, I had my internship here was just to fulfil the requirements for graduation, but I did worked hard as taking care of animals became a responsibility. However, the efforts done were not appreciated and the supervisor assigned didn't even work with me for any single day. So, it is guessed that the assessments were graded by using hearsay. In short, it was a terrible experience and I won't make the same choice again if I were given a...
Read moreWell worth spending at least a couple of hours or more to see and interact with the animals i.e. feeding opportunities with parakeets, tortoises, emus and koi fishes and a walk through the butterfly enclosure where a butterfly is bound to land on you - if they don't, it either means you're too fidgety or take it as a tell tale sign that you have a major BO problem. Kids will have a blast. They will get to see all sorts of animals on the premises but don't expect shows. Also much has been said about the place not being stroller or wheelchair friendly. Unfortunately, it is true but it is also understandable as they have somehow managed to cram quite a varied number of animals in what was essentially a hilly terrain. I have no association with the business but it's important to support so that our younger generation get to see these animals up close. Kudos also to the operators for the pupa hatching in a jar idea which you can purchase for RM20 each to release at home. Lastly, if you're coming from the highway, you have to make a sharp left hand turn immediately after the toll. If you're coming from Melaka direction, you need to spot the gap in the barrier just before the toll - otherwise, sorry lah... you'll need to pay toll to the nearest exit and then back again - at...
Read moreI recently visited Taman Rama-Rama Melaka with my kids, and it was such a pleasant and memorable trip. The park has a wide variety of insects, reptiles, and of course, beautiful butterflies.
The real highlight, however, was the staff. They were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging. At every section, the staff not only guided us but also shared fun and educational information. There were interactive info sessions, like learning about the beetle’s life cycle and a fun activity where we had to spot camouflaged insects hidden in the trees. What impressed me most was that many of the staff are part-timers, yet they showed so much passion and dedication to their work. Kudos to both the staff and management for maintaining such high standards!
Towards the end, my daughters were thrilled by the butterfly origami activity and meeting the Butterfly Princess – such a thoughtful touch for kids and families.
If I had to point out one drawback, it’s that the park isn’t stroller-friendly. For families with babies, I’d recommend bringing a baby carrier instead.
Overall, we had so much fun, and honestly, I found the experience even better than the KL Bird Park. Highly recommended for families looking for an educational yet...
