Forest City Golf Resort — Attraction in Iskandar Puteri

Credit to the golf course for its immaculate gardens; however, the hotel itself is a major disappointment, with cleanliness issues similar to those at the Marina Hotel.

Rooms were filthy and not cleaned to an acceptable standard. I had to view four different rooms before finding one suitable for a night’s sleep. This wasted over an hour just to settle in — hardly the relaxing start you expect after a long journey.

The pool area is poorly maintained, with broken tiles and damaged chairs. At the restaurant, staff had their backs turned and were on their phones while I waited at the front to be served. Even after viewing multiple rooms, the situation was not escalated to a manager until I specifically asked.

Check-in was straightforward but lacked any warmth or welcome — especially disappointing for a so-called 5-star resort in such a remote location. Outdoor seating had no cushions, leaving only bare metal bars to sit on.

I had mentioned in my booking that this was a special occasion, yet this request was clearly never read. Only when I asked directly was I told that decorations could be arranged at a cost — something that should have been acknowledged at check-in or with prior email communication.

Overall, this resort does not deserve its 5-star rating and falls far short of what Forest City claims to represent. A complete disappointment.

You will surely love the place, the staff and the breakfast they serve. Relaxing view with big rooms and bathtub. Disclaimer: far from other locations and grab not well used. Better with those with private cars but reception and security will help you look for a service but with different price of course compare to grab. But overall, i enjoyed...
