Only Available on Saturdays Operating Hours (According to Google Maps): 4.30pm to 10.00pm
Even though Google Maps reports the Pasar Malam opening at 4.30pm, not all the Stalls are ready at that time. In fact the 4.30pm timing is more when the Tentages are being first set-up. I would recommend to visit it from 5.30pm onwards.
This TUTA Pasar Malam can arguably be referred to as Johor Bahru's Biggest One by far. Because its open only on Saturdays, it is also one of the Busiest too.
I have no idea how Big it is, but it really is very Big. Because its so Big, there are Several Ways to access it. If this is your first time here, you can go to the Main Entrance of the 777 Food Centre which itself is a Very Big Eating Place. The Pasar Malam will be just nearby.
One thing to note, the Road is NOT Closed to Traffic for this Pasar Malam. Sometimes there are Cars that actually rode along the Same Road that Pedestrians are walking on. You need to take note of this and be cautious especially if you have Little Kids along.
Booth Owners are Friendly and Polite, No Rowdy Behaviour. Overall feels Safe although of course, do take the usual precautions for your belongings especially when it starts getting Crowded.
Because TUTA is considered as a "华人区", the Stalls here tends to lean more towards Chinese Foods. There are a few Malay Food Booths but not as much in Comparison. I didn't see any Indian Food Booths when I was there. There are No Exotic Foods like Insects or Creepy Crawlies although I did see a Couple of Live Snake Demonstration Booths.
Most of the Stalls 来来去去 are all the Same Things I've seen before in other Pasar Malams. I even recognize some of the Stall Owners whom I've seen before in the KSL Monday Pasar Malam.
Prices of the Food Stalls mostly range from RM5.00+ to RM10.00+ onwards and are agar agar close to Regular JB Food Prices with maybe a Slight Mark-Up.
As with other Pasar Malams, there are Various Coffeeshops alongside the Pasar Malam Route. You can ask the Coffeeshop Owner politely and buy a Drink from them to be able to go into them to sit down comfortably and eat your Pasar Malam Foods.

Read moreThree decades ago, this residential park was the talk of the town. Made to be a satellite town after overcrowding occurred in town, many Chinese bought properties and houses here to stay. Transport was convenient and regular, business moved here from town and everyone thought this was a good place to develop. Thirty years onward, you can see businesses moving elsewhere. Taman Sutera came up and people wanted a cleaner, more organized living spaces with a "proper shopping mall". The developers "Tanah Sutera" promptly stole the limelight from Tun Aminah and now, you see old houses, shops closing down or moving towards Sutera Gardens and beyond (Nusa Bestari) and somehow, this place was lost in transition. Taman Tun Aminah has a small wet market, a Plaza Tasik that is soooo haphazardly organized you wouldnt want to step in, a few cornerlot hawker stalls, retails basically offering furniture and bedding, curtains, car tyres, electrical and wedding/bridal offerings. There is a Meido Restaurant where wedding dinners can be hosted and finally a bus terminal where northbound express buses (including YoYo bus to Klia) would do a stopover to pick up passengers. The glamour of staying is gone and old folks with old homes basically do their retirement here and try their best to renovate their houses to keep them...
Read moreHuge night market with a wide array of stalls. From selling fruits to pirated songs USB to medicated oil to the reason why we're visiting - food.
A must try is definitely the taiwan black tofu. It is so darn good. It is quite spicy so if u can't take spicy food, please go for the 无辣 or 微辣. The soup is flavourful and the tofu(more like taupok) is packed with the goodness of the soup. Top dish for me of the entire night market.
There are many stalls selling fried chicken. So do take ur time to select one. There were 2 carrot cake stalls. The famous one would be the one we went. It's very fragrant but I would prefer it to be more charred. Nonetheless, good dish and a must try imo.
There was a van parked just outside the night market selling smelly tofu. We did not get to try that as they sold out by the time we headed back to the van at 8.30pm. We arrived at 6.30pm and there was a long queue.
Definitely will return next time! Do note that the night market is quite crowded and the traffic is really bad. It was quite hard to find a space to park. Just park wherever u can find a space...
