This is a lovely place to hike although it can get hectic in the morning with everyone getting in since you can only get here by driving. So parking can be a buzz killer. When you enter, there is a parking house and where you pay the entry fee and get the receipt. Pls make sure u keep the receipt as the parking wardens (villages) would want to verify you have paid.
Once you embark on the hike, within the 15 minutes if you are on a leisurely pace, you will find the toilets as well as entry to the small waterfall. There are many who are there to enjoy the water and company. So you should be able to navigate there purely listening to the sounds of camaraderie.
Otherwise if you take your time and hike all the way up, you can be rewarded well for your effort. There are 2 particular spots near the peak where the views are amazing. Many don't make it through all the way to the top and miss out on the views.
Further from the peak views will be the site of the telecom towers which is not accessible and can be eerie especially if you are alone. The whole track is actually made so as to allow the staff to get to the towers. So the whole stretch is tarmac although you can veer off the beaten track especially if you are feeling adventurous.
Once you are done with the trek you are actually not too far off Pontian where the famous wantan mee awaits which is perfect after hike meal for those craving for some Chinese food.
Overall this is not bad a place to be with friends or family, unfortunately though maintenance is minimal even though there is an entry fee in part because the cleaners are not that conscious but more importantly because the users are not civic minded enough to date. Definitely cannot compare to any Japanese hiking trails but it is as good as it...
