This review is for both the cafe and the treehouse stay.

Cafe

The aglio olio pasta and chicken with toast were good. Drinks were good too albeit pricey. We were there for lunch on a Sunday and there were crowd of families and friends. If you can afford going on a weekday, I am sure you will enjoy the peace sipping coffee while looking out at the lush greenery. Kudos to Rain who is managing the cafe.

Treehouse Stay

There are two types of treehouses. The one with glass that was shown in the e-brochure was the modern treehouse. It is very near the lobby and doesn't require much climb, but nearer to the street too. It wasn't specified, but we found out that there was a minimum spending in order to stay in the modern treehouse. Hence, we stayed in the other treehouse. It was quite a climb from the lobby, it is impossible to bring a wheeled luggage. Backpack is the only way. Inside the treehouse, there is a plastic box for guests to put their stuff so that the monkeys won't take it away, mattress, blanket, pillow, an electrical fan and mosquito net. No safe, no lock. It is back to basics. Our double storey treehouse has a bathroom on the ground floor. But the non enclosed bathroom in the common area was a nicer experience as it was more airy. There is no hot water for shower in all bathrooms. The room rate include dinner and breakfast. The food is not cafe standard, but it is decent. We had rice with cauliflower for dinner, and beehoon for breakfast. There were many mosquitos during dinner time. There were also coffee tea and milo at the lobby area, which guests can help themselves to. Three of us didn't have deep sleep as there were ants. The staff told us that if we have told them, they could give us snake powder to sprinkle around the mattress (would be nice if we knew this option earlier). We like the back to basics experience, listening to the symphony of nature at night, but we value deep sleep more. Perhaps we could get used to it if we stayed for a few more nights? Thank you to Rain and Ling who brought us to a short hike at the compound, we saw the first generation of treehouses made of bamboo and also experienced a...

Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Gunung Pulai, the Rainforest Tree House Café is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the serene ambiance of the rainforest, with the gentle rustle of leaves and the chorus of birdsong creating a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The café itself is a masterpiece of eco-friendly architecture, with its charming treehouse design blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings. Whether you choose to sit inside the cozy interior or on the open-air terrace, you're treated to breathtaking views of the verdant canopy stretching out before you.

But it's not just the ambiance that makes this café stand out—it's the food. The menu features a delectable selection of dishes inspired by the flavors of the rainforest, from fragrant lemongrass-infused soups to succulent grilled meats marinated in exotic spices. Each bite is a culinary adventure, with every dish expertly crafted to tantalize the taste buds.

And let's not forget about the drinks. The café offers an extensive array of beverages, from freshly brewed local coffee to refreshing tropical fruit smoothies. Whether you're in the mood for a caffeine fix or a thirst-quenching treat, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

But perhaps the most enchanting aspect of the Rainforest Tree House Café is its commitment to sustainability. From using locally sourced ingredients to minimizing waste, every effort is made to minimize the café's environmental footprint and preserve the natural beauty of Gunung Pulai for future generations to enjoy.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a truly magical dining experience that combines breathtaking views, delicious food, and a commitment to sustainability, look no further than the Rainforest Tree House Café. It's a place where nature meets culinary excellence, and every visit is an adventure...

It was a very worst experience, during 19th November 2023, the cafe closing time is until 4.30pm, but we as a customer reached at 3.30pm, even last order time hasn't reached but the worker approached us and said there is no food anymore. I was stunned and really disappointed and frustrated, I purposely went this far-off place and there is no food supply??

Moreover, the worker told us only beverages available, and minimum spend per pax 1 drink/dessert. Walao eh, food even unavailable still require minimum spending per pax 1 drink/dessert??? What kind of cafe? The surprising part was, after I ordered beverages and before I left the cafe, when I was making the payment, I saw the waitress carrying the Spaghetti food to the customer who entered same time with us !! This is really ridiculous and unforgivable, how come upfront told us no food available but at the end there is Spaghetti ready to serve to the customers at 4.10pm??

Is a very terrible and unmeaningful experiences with this Rainforest tree cafe, wasted my petrol and money to visit this dishonest cafe. I swear no next time and won't be introducing anyone to visit this cafe anymore.

4.30pm关店,结果我们3.30pm到,和我们说没有食物了?结果4.10pm结账时,一名服务员端着意大利面给其他同时到的customer,...

Since many comments have already mentioned the atmosphere, I would like to provide some tips for those who wish to bring their family members to the cafe. A total of 5 of us spent RM390++ (1 Starter, 2 Extra garlic bread, 5 main courses, 3 Soup with bread, 6 coffee, 3 desserts). 1. The place is not suitable for people with mobility issues, for example, if you need to use a cane or a wheelchair, it is challenging to navigate the staircase, and some steps/rocks are uneven, especially on rainy days, making it more dangerous. 2. The food portions are small, especially considering the price point, particularly for the spaghetti. 3. The waiting time for the food was about 40 minutes for all the items we ordered, and the sequence was also incorrect, the starter arrived after we had finished all the main courses. I hope the cafe can be improved, especially regarding the safety of the staircase. I love the natural atmosphere, of course. The above is just feedback, and I hope the establishment will grow and make improvements to allow more customers to enjoy the place.

The way to be nearest to nature!! 🍃🐞 Being a local tourist to Kulai, I stayed in the same treehouse 10 years back during one of the Valentines. The owner served us homemade teas & still remembered the bunch of people having steamboat at the night, chilling on the hammock looking at the stars, then the very next morning went to waterfall and treehouse breakfast was nasi lemak! 🎵 We also played guitar & sang there! 😊 Hey, you guys are amazingggggg, the only thing I regretted was not carrying my camera over!!!!!!!! 😩 Update Mar 2024: I wasn’t expect to get delicous food at the café but turned out everything was so good! This round we had teas with toasts & gnocchi - So tasty!!! I gotta bring more friends over (abit far haha) and try the braised chicken/beef stew (seen from the next table) & handbrew coffee for sure. 🤗 Update Sep 2025: Reminder to make a reservation (table can sit up to 2 hours) before your visit. Still loving the nature vibes a lot and meow meow ah gai is still friendly yet polite. Food standard is well maintained year after year (:
