Charming Resort with Great Potential, But In Need of Refurbishment
We recently stayed at here and were overall pleased with our experience. The resort has a nostalgic charm with its traditional architecture and beautiful location. It offers a tranquil atmosphere, and the service provided by the staff was warm, attentive, and welcoming.
The Positives:
Location: The resort is perfectly situated, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Whether it's oceanfront or nestled in lush greenery, the natural surroundings are undoubtedly one of its strongest assets.
Service: The staff members are incredibly polite and helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable. Their hospitality really enhances the overall experience.
Amenities: While some facilities are a bit dated, they are still functional. The pool area is quite lovely and offers a relaxing space to unwind.
Ambience: There's something truly special about the old-world charm of the resort. It has a character and history that’s hard to find in more modern properties.
Areas for Improvement:
Rooms and Interiors: While the rooms are spacious and well-appointed, it’s clear that the furnishings, décor, and bathroom fixtures are past their prime. The carpets and upholstery look worn, and the overall aesthetic feels a bit tired. A refurbishment would really breathe new life into the place.
Maintenance: Some areas of the resort could benefit from better upkeep. For example, minor details like chipped paint, worn-out wooden structures, or outdated bathroom tiles detract from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere.

We had a very unpleasant experience during our stay.
When we got into the room, the TV wasn’t working, the aircon wasn’t cooling at all, and the entire room was uncomfortably hot. We immediately informed the reception and waited for 20 minutes, but no one came. We told them we would head out for a while and asked that the technician fix the problems during that time.
An hour later, we returned—nothing had been fixed.
The receptionist told us the technician couldn’t do anything because we weren’t in the room. But I had already received a call from the counter when the technician arrived—so why didn’t they update us or ask for permission to proceed? And if they knew the issues couldn’t be fixed, why didn’t they take the initiative to offer a room change?
It’s been delay after delay, and honestly, we’re just tired of chasing for basic comfort and service.
We waited another hour, and guess what? Now the aircon in the new room started leaking. The TV issue still wasn’t resolved, and instead of improving, new problems just kept showing up. When I informed the receptionist, they told me it was “out of their expectation.” I could only reply, “same to me.”
This is supposed to be a 4-star hotel. Basic room maintenance should not be so difficult. One of the rooms might’ve been okay, but we had to go through three different rooms—and every single one had problems.

Read moreScoring a 2/5 for reasons below : 1) the hotel is worn-out and showing serious signs of aging. The entrance is okay but where we stayed in level 1, roofs were leaking or got holes with towels or cloth placed on the floor to absorb the water droplets. The tiles were also broken and missing in some which makes floor uneven and dangerous for young kids or elderly people as one might trip and fall. The breakfast food tasted okay. 2) the room we booked was king deluxe. Although it is huge and overseeing nice golf resort, it is very out-dated. The locker was not working, no menu for us to order food to the room although we were told we can do so and the worst was definitely the washroom layout. A bathtub, toilet cubicle without bidet, and shower cubicle. It was not easy to clean up toddler especially without bidet. The first night of our stay, the room had lizard droppings in the bathtub and room and lizard was roaming around as well.
