the most unexpected activity that are so boring we experienced ever in langkawi..

here it goes..

what we expect before entering.. 💬there's a guide in every section/pitastop 💬there's a animation through our journey 💬reasonable price for pictures / souvenirs since the tickets not so cheap 💬there's a welcoming fireworks at cafe 💬entering the dream forest group by group with guide

what the unexpected experience.. ⚠️no tour / activity guide for our group.. when we entering the first stop (there's an animation show).. but then, after the big door is open.. all is just messed up and everyone rushed to enter the door.. if there is a guide, so it could be nice and a bit proper.. this is not marathon or walk-a-thon right?? ⚠️there's no one mentioning 'HIKING'.. the journey a bit hike, so please wear proper shoes and a bit hot, so wear suitable shirts.. also, there's a mosquitoes since this area is forest, so be prepared.. ⚠️there's a cafe inside the forest and nearby the counter tickets.. but we not purchased anything there since no specialty for tickets buyer🙄 so better we buy our food/beverages outside.. ⚠️restroom we did not realize at counter tickets area, but there's inside the forest but.. no one has the brave to go because too dim and yes we not sure whether the toilet is combined or separated gens.. ⚠️the cafe inside the forest really nice but yes again too dim too dark.. also we not sure spends time for cafes and so we continue our journey because we are too afraid to left behind.. again there is no guide.. ⚠️most of our journey there is no guide.. so we also not sure what to do and juat simply push the button or games and ya, we already being left out and not interested with the dream forest's mission.. ⚠️also we expect the heroes/characters are in mascot form or else but no all in CARDBOARD/Animation.. and lighting also not nice for selfie or not a photo friendly activity.. 😢😢 ⚠️the photos taken at the entrance are expensive.. the souvenir are expensive.. yes we don't buy anything and wonder if the exclusivity for tickets buyer..

improvement?? 🙆make it group by group entrance.. ensure all group experienced the same thing for every pit stop.. incase if they want to spends a bit at that particular area, make them join to other group.. so no jammed.. no rushed. everyone can have their peace of mind..

🙆enables mini bus or even mini train like skycab.. it will be more enjoyable since this area is hiking..make it optional for those who wants to hike/ride.. the ticket price should be negotiable.. or make it pay if want to ride like skycab..

🙆the activity should be more variety.. more interesting.. only sound and lighting..and a mini game at the ending?? come on.. Where's the mascot?? the main character should be available..

🙆too dim, less lighting.. not nice for photos..

🙆the main attraction of the dream forest is the BIG DOOR.. understand what's the clients wants?? like castle sculpture , boat sculpture , mountain sculpture or etc..

🙆the prices if your entrance ticket already near to rm100, why the photos, souvenirs, the café's food/beverages are expensive??

🙆the restroom so far and most of the clients there are afraid to go..

🙆the fireworks should be more lively and welcoming all the participants to join the marshmallow with free.. ya inclusive with tickets.. this can do group by group..

will i attend again? No

if there's improvement, will i try? Ok if the price are...

Terrible experience — no communication, closed for private event without notice!

If you are planning to visit with family, do not purchase your tickets in advance. Even on weekends, this place may close for private events without proper notice, leaving families stranded.

I initially thought you would prefer to settle this matter internally and protect your reputation. However, it seems you are more focused on replying to public Google reviews than responding to personal emails — even after your own team asked me to email the sales manager, Ms. Zulika.

I have waited seven working days and left my contact details again, even though they were clearly stated in my booking information. Yet, no one has taken the initiative to follow up or settle the refund as promised by your guest service team.

This was supposed to be a special finale to our trip to Langkawi, celebrating our son’s birthday. We planned everything carefully, considering we were traveling with a senior citizen and a young child. To avoid any issues, I purchased tickets in advance, confirmed your operating hours on Google, and provided all necessary contact details — expecting at least basic professionalism from your side.

To our shock, when we arrived around 7:30 PM, we were turned away by the security guard who informed us the venue was closed for a private event. Your team failed to inform us — no email, no SMS, nothing! Our tickets clearly stated the visit date, so what was the point of collecting our contact information if you had no intention of using it to communicate such critical changes?

We were told the venue would only reopen after 9:45 PM — a completely unreasonable arrangement for families with young children and elderly guests. If you are closing for private events, especially on weekends, it is your responsibility to update your website, adjust your Google business hours, and inform all ticket holders well in advance.

I demanded a refund on the spot, and your staff casually told me to “just email in” and assured me I would receive a refund. Again, this experience was nowhere near the “magical” service you advertise. Your handling of the situation — from poor communication to the lousy customer experience — has been extremely disappointing.

Update (29/4/25): Congratulations — your team has officially earned my first bad review on Google. It’s impressive that you managed to reply to my public review within 7 hours, but your sales manager still hasn’t responded to my email after 7 working days. And now you’re asking me to email her again? Absolutely not. Please just honor what was promised and process the refund before the end of this week, if you think reputation still matters to you. Thanks.

Update (16/5/25): I finally got the refund— after complete silence for just 9 more working days and need my extra effort to email them again. Bravo, truly. Magical...

Absolute Scam and disappointment!

They have just put in some moving lights and low quality laser effects in a forest, and play some really amateur-quality, dimly lit animations about the legends in the history of Langkawi, and charge you 98 Ringitts to walk for almost an hour in this fun-less setting.

Ok, so they might have invested a lot of money to put this whole experience in place, and therefore they feel that charging 98 Ringitts will give them a proper return on investment; but then, you should also deliver 98 Ringitts worth of entertainment and fun to your customer, who has every right to expect his money's worth, which you are not delivering.

Ok, so there are a few semi-Wow visual effects that children might find interesting for a few seconds at most, but is it worth the money you are charging people for this whole thing? So I am honestly surprised at the people who have given this whole experience a good rating, probably based on one or two elements, and ignoring the overall quality of this exercise, which needs a complete overhaul, and not just some minor adjustments, to make it worth the money they are charging you.

The videos on YouTube do not give you an idea of the actual experience, which is really disappointing.

That was one hour of my life and 98 Ringitts of my honestly earned money that am an never getting back. In all fairness, I did feel cheated at the end of this exercise.

98 Ringitts won't break my bank, but here on Langkawi, there are soo many better uses of your money then wasting it on an absolutely amateurish experience like the Dream Forest.

I am posting this review after giving much though to whether I should share my views on this visit, and I decided that at least I should give my honest views on what I experienced this thing to be.

My trigger to put in a review was when when my wife expressed similar thoughts about this place to the ones that I was having, despite the fact that I said to her "it was ok" while we were walking out of the place.

I might consider revisiting this place if someone pays me, but Absolutely...

It’s nice but needs improvement. For me, the 68rm for foreigners is kinda expensive. I mean 50rm for locals is also not super worth it. I mean for sure the kids would love it and tbh I did too but needs more. I know it’s just soft opening until July 31st so maybe they’re still doing something more. The showing after entrance is nice but the speakers are just in front. Could put another one in the back so everyone can hear clearly. It’s nice that there’s now an English version but incomplete yet. After the tree village, we can’t understand it anymore. No more English subtitles/version. It would also be nice if there would be some warnings or signs for people to be quiet during the showing in the rooms so the experience would be more pleasant. Another thing I noticed is that there are areas without lights yet (not sure if it’s intentional that not everything is illuminated tho). I feel like it could just use more lights inside or like a design thing. If you’ve been to Lost World (I think Luminous forest), it’s more well lighted. The colorful ties or ribbons could help (idk I’m not an expert but something like that 😅) anyway I know this forest is bigger and might be harder or more expensive to illuminate everything. Hopefully with the entrance fee rate, they could make it an even better experience for everyone.
