December 2023 the cost to visit this place by yourself (without a prepaid tour/ticket) are as follows: First, of course, you have to get there. We (group of 6) arrived via cruise ship and grabbed a taxi outside the bus station. Taxi was for 4 hours, for 70 Ringgit per person. At the entrance to the Sky Bridge complex, you'll be offered express tickets. They are 150 MYR. We passed on those and went inside the complex. There are a few shops, kiosks, etc. There is also the official ticket booth where you can buy the ticket for the cable car "Sky cab". The cheapest option is the normal single ticket for adults which is 85 MYR. Credit cards are accepted. Note that this ticket only includes the cable car, not the bridge itself. There is NO WAY up there other than the cable car. If you go on a day where there's a cruise ship in the port, expect long lines. Or buy the express tickets because the cruise passengers all have express tickets. Despite knowing that, we went with the cheapest option and waited ~70 minutes to board. BTW: This cable car ticket will be for a certain time slot (15 minutes increments). Go to the entrance as soon as they will let you through. Don't wait for your time slot!!!
Once you boarded the cable car (6 per car), the drive up is ~9 minutes. There's a stop at the middle station with the option to get out to see the eagle platform. We opted not to disembark and went straight up to the bridge. There is NO option to come back to this middle platform.
Once up, you have to pay 6 MYR to enter the Sky Bridge. There was no line to get the ticket, but it's better to assume there will be and buy that ticket with the one for the cable car down at the main entrance.
From the upper station, you can reach the bridge either via another cable car (additional cost 16 MYR) or via stairs. I haven't counted the stairs, but someone said there's 300+ of them. They are irregular, so going up and down is a bit challenging, but doable. There's monkeys around. If you go for the cable car, there might be a line, because there's only one cabin going back and forth. Standing room only!
So in total: 85 + 6 MYR for the cheapest option which includes a lot of stairs and possibly standing in line for a long time.
The views are great.
Beat advice I can give: Check the internet for the cruise schedule and plan accordingly. If there's a ship on the day you want to go, plan to go...
Read moreWe visited the Langkawi Sky Bridge during my recent stay and overall, it was a great experience – but with a few things you should know before planning your trip.
Parking & Entry:
There is ample parking space, so that’s one thing sorted.
You begin your visit from the Oriental Village area, which has a good mix of restaurants, souvenir shops, and small attractions.
You’ll find the ticket counter here – I highly recommend buying tickets in advance and opting for the priority lane, especially if you’re traveling with kids or during peak hours.
Important Tips:
Carry a water bottle, umbrella, and portable fan – it gets extremely humid and hot at the top.
Grab your essentials at the base, because once you're up there, prices are much higher.
Wear comfortable shoes – there's some walking involved.
Cable Car / Gondola Ride:
The cable car (SkyCab) takes you through spectacular views of lush green hills and distant ocean views. One of the best parts of the experience!
If you've opted for the Eagle’s Nest, that’s your first stop – great for photos and short treks.
You then head to the SkyBridge via the SkyGlide (a short funicular ride).
However, note: even if you’ve purchased priority tickets, there is no priority queue at SkyGlide – expect a wait there.
Sky Bridge Experience
The SkyBridge itself is an engineering marvel with panoramic views of the island. A must-see! It’s a bit windy but very safe and perfect for photos.
Facilities & Attractions:
Facilities are well-managed – clean washrooms, signboards, organized queues, and snack stalls are available throughout the site.
At the base, you’ll find decent food options – including vegetarian and Asian cuisine.
Add-on Attractionsv
SkyDome: A fun 360° cinema-style dome – kids will enjoy it.
3D Art Museum: Highly recommended! Great fun for families, especially if you enjoy quirky photos.
SkyRex was unfortunately closed during our visit – with no prior notice or refund, which was a bit disappointing.
Final Verdict:
If you're visiting Langkawi, the SkyBridge is a must-do for its views and experience. Just be prepared for the heat, carry essentials, and manage your expectations for some smaller attractions. Go early and make the most of it!
Various bollywood movies have been shot here, like Don 2...
