Discovery Centre, Langkawi UNESCO Global Geopark — Attraction in Langkawi Island

GDC, a hidden place at the right hand side along the road when you are going to jetty to take the boat for mangrove tour.

You can learn about the history and formation of Pulau Langkawi in GDC, everthing about the island is inside here, more importantly it is entrance FREE. Just require to register your name at the front desk.

Please visit this place for maybe 30 minutes but you will be more familiar and understand about this pulau. Trust me.

There is a souvenir shop before the exit but it is quite pricey...

It is a small and free museum which you can do in 15 mins. The staff are really kind and there is a small souvenir shop at the exit which is rich and well priced. The only thing I did not like and this is for most of Malaysia is that they charged for toilet 0.5 RM and 0.5 RM more for toilet paper LOL It is really rude to charge money for something as basic as toilet, do they want us to go in the bushes? It is almost like charging for...

This discovery centre is definitely one to visit. Its free, just full in your name and country. You wander around looking at history of langkawi. Interactive things for kids. Last room is a video on all the wonderful things in Langkawi to see etc, with very comfortable beanbags and air con. Walk out through a souvenir shop and toilets (small charge).
