My friends and I really enjoyed this campsite for its incredible mountain-top location surrounded by lush greenery, complete with super clean bathrooms, hot showers, and the fun archery activity. The natural views and facilities were spot-on.
However, there were a few disappointments. The website didn’t provide a clear breakdown of activities, and we only received the detailed itinerary after booking. We expected a peaceful evening with background music by the campfire, as advertised. Instead, it turned out to be a loud karaoke session run by staff, complete with disco lights and loud singing , ( I’ve also checked with the staff when we heard the karaoke session , and they only said to me that it was stated , and when I read the message again , it clearly stated “music and campfire” not KARAOKE and campfire ) , so it was not quite the peaceful nature experience we’d hoped for. Since the campsite is advertised as kid-friendly, that was also one of the reason we chose this campsite , but yet… the loud karaoke music kept waking up the babies. So those who wants to bring your babies / kids , and if they have to sleep early …. Go on weekdays , there aren’t that many activities during the weekdays .
Additionally, we experienced issues with lighting in one of our tents. Despite informing staff twice, no one addressed the issue, leaving one tent in the dark.
There was also a bit of confusion at check-in. Our campsite location wasn’t clearly explained, and we were unexpectedly asked to switch zones in the rain, which might disrupt our setup. Better communication would have helped avoid this. But in the end , they allowed us to remain in our zone …. But still… we didn’t need that whole on going conversation and debate on letting us just stay in our zone …. … just killed the whole evening vibe .
Overall, though, we appreciated the location and had a great time with friends, but improvements in communication and activity descriptions would make the experience even better. If you're visiting with kids or seeking a quiet retreat, consider checking...
Read moreIf you want a chill place, this is a great option. We booked lot F2 thinking it was near a bathroom but turns out the bathroom was not ours to use T_T Before you make a booking, here are a few things to consider (read till the end for all the things we loved!): Booking is done through their site and it can be pretty confusing. I had to cross reference the map and their camp spots and ended up with a decision that I wish was better. So if you're unclear/unsure like me, I suggest talking to their PIC +60199808876 The bathrooms allocated to us around the corner only had 2 cubicles and 2 showers. Sadly one of the WC was not in the best condition, the seat was broken and there was no hand soap. For the price we were paying, a little bit of food provided would have been nice haha (this is just a personal opinion) It gets HOT during the day (not their fault of course), so do find stuff to do to cool down Parking may be limited depending on when you arrive There's a power source for charging but no hair dryers can be used so if you cannot tahan, best to bring dry shampoo or let it air dry Hot water showers are limited and on one of the days the gas ran out (it was fixed immediately tho!)
What we loved: The place is quite new so their equipment are pretty new. They hire local natives who were SUPER helpful! They provide fans and you can exchange with them any time you run out of battery The hosts are super nice and friendly, they check in on us pretty often The main allocated bathroom is REALLY NICE & clean (except for terrible campers who stepped on the seats/peed all over the seat) Night time gets chilly and air is really fresh There are lots of fun activities to do but we didn't join any as the timing didn't fit us as much (but the options were great!) They sell coffee at their little stand on top of essentials, and also ice cream! The dogs and cat on site were so friendly
Overall, its a nice place if you want an escape from the...
Read moreI had high expectations for Camp Lu Ying, especially because it’s the most expensive campsite I’ve ever been to. I stayed at Zone 1B, and while some parts of the experience were great, many others were disappointing.
Overview: • My lot was at Zone 1B. The space is very large and can fit 3 tents with a big flysheet, which is suitable for group camping.
Pros: The view is truly beautiful. You can see hills and mountains right in front of your camping spot. It gets very cold at night, which makes it very comfortable and cozy to sleep. The campsite is clean and well-maintained. The toilets are spacious and clean, which is a big plus.
Cons: It gets extremely hot during the day because there are no big trees to provide shade. The toilet is quite far from the Zone 1B lot, which is inconvenient especially at night. Water pressure in the shower room is slow and not strong enough. The solar water heater doesn’t work in the morning, likely because there is no sun yet. So there’s no hot water when you need it most. The pool at Zone 1 is not clean. There was thick mold in the water, which made it unusable. No plug point was provided at the lot, which is disappointing considering the high price paid.
Extra Disappointment – Campfire Event: One of the most unexpected and funny parts was the Saturday night campfire. I thought there would be a proper campfire event, maybe with a fire show or something suitable for kids. But it ended up just being a big firewood setup with loud karaoke playing Chinese and Korean songs. It was very noisy and not suitable for children at all. Although the campfire was held at Zone 2, the loud music could be clearly heard from Zone 1, which disturbed the peaceful night environment.
Uncontrollable Downside: There were also glamping guests who made noise until 3am. We couldn’t sleep at all the entire night. This part depends on your luck, but it affected our...
