Permai Lake Garden is the second green lung of Sibu after Bukit Lima Forest Reserve, and Sibu is the only town in Sarawak to have two such environment-friendly features incorporated in its town planning. Also, It is home to many species of birds, mammals and plants. It is a living laboratory for researchers studying tropical rainforest flora and fauna, and a favourite spot for morning walks and jogging.
The garden has incorporated a ‘Lakeside Corridor’ concept into it that includes a building with a conical roof representing the Melanau traditional craft – the Terendak. Next to it is the Lakeside Corridor restaurant, with the dining area facing the lake.

Read moreAlso knows as Lake Garden. Easy to find parking space if you are early. My family arrived at 5pm and there was ample parking. The entrance to the lake is right beside the burger stall. The walk along the lake is "one way". We didn't know this and we entered through the "exit" lane as there were no sign posts. We had walked for 10 mins when we were kindly asked by the security guard to turn around. We didn't manage to walk around the lake as my kids got distracted and wanted to play at the kids recreational area. My kids had fun!
There is a public toilet too. I guess it closes after 6pm. ( I saw the wardens leave so I assume they were closing, but I could be wrong.)
We also saw few people practicing their remote control boats. That was exciting...
