Teluk Melano Beach — Attraction in Sarawak

Good road 20km to the end of the teluk. The weather are good during our visit (month of august) very sunshine. Please bring extra sun protection like umbrella, UV lotion/ cream, sun glasses, alot of drinking water, proper shoes/ sandals. Few food stalls selling food and souviners.

Access to clean water- not recomended, espescially for toilet usage. Very bad and you need to access to a private toilet/ ppl house.

Acceas to electricity - no way. Please bring extra full charged power bank, incase. No signal of celco company. Please prepare sms/ call communication type of service.

Food and beverage- no recomended to buy from the stalls, but no harm. Selling the BBQ type food stuff like chinken, hotdog. Many ppl like to bring their food from outside and do picnic here.

Others:

During peak season, tree shelter alway full with ground sheet and families. Bring your own.

Activities- motobike. Making alot of noise. Personally not a good place for relaxing as an urban ppl. They should move to far aside not to the main entrance/ families picnic area.

Had great time with family here. Since we went there almost noon (getting hotter), thus not much activities to do. Just chilling and had picnic while mesmerized the beach. Don't worry there are many stalls you can choose. Bought coconut and sugarcane drinks, fruits and bbq meat there. Had experience to try atv quad bike at the beach (starting 10 mins ride for rm20).

Overall; great view, great time except please maintain the toilet clean, the location of the toilet so that people know the strategic located toilet, more huts to build so that people able to sit and enjoy the view/do activities and lastly access to tap water. My aunt went to the toilet (further from the beach) and told us there was no water to flush and wash hands at that time. No water = under maintainance? Construction nearby? Hope it can be improved more because I can see telok melano as a tourist attraction. Maybe can see Phuket...

Very beautiful beaches and clean environment. Great place to hang around with family.

The above review was 8 months ago. I recently visited this place again on 31/8/2023. To my great dissapppointment:

1. the beach and surrounding are dirty with rubbish.
2. the beach is not as nice as last time due to so many ATV roaming around the beach, causing the beach's sand not as soft and white as before.
3. the peacefull of the beach are gone due to loud music played by the locals and also from the ATV.
4. No public toilet available for the visitors. The newly constructed public toilet are still closed eventhou the project should finished in Feb 2022 ( more then a year ago).
5. i heard from the locals, they still have no proper water supply and still depending with the water source from the nearby mountain and also from the rain. The MP should take more attention to infrastructure and the needs of the...
