Alor Lempah (Ampang Pecah) – A Relaxing Family Spot by the River

A peaceful riverside destination that’s perfect for a laid-back family outing or picnic. Located in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Alor Lempah offers calm, shallow waters ideal for children to wade in and adults to relax nearby. The surrounding greenery and well-kept grass area make it suitable for setting up mats or chairs for a relaxing day out.

The mini dam structure and gentle flow of water add a scenic charm to the place. It’s not a waterfall per se, but the river has a series of shallow cascades that are enjoyable for splashing around or simply soaking your feet.

There are basic facilities like huts and gazebos available along the riverside (first-come, first-served), and you can park your car fairly close to the area. Weekends might get a little busy, so coming earlier is recommended to secure a good spot.

📌 Good for: Picnics, kids-friendly water play, photography, and a break from city life. 🚫 Caution: No lifeguards, so always keep an eye on kids. Also, water may look muddy after rain.

Definitely worth a stop if you're exploring Kuala Kubu Bharu or planning a full-day...

This spot is such an amazing hidden gem. Deep within the woods, surrounded by the seemingly uneventful suburban setting of Kuala Kubu Bharu, is this BEAUTIFUL river that not only offers stunning views and comforting breezes, but also provides an immersive atmosphere through the trickling sounds of waterfall and the soft graze of hard water, that is otherwise unachievable in urban settings. With how secluded this spot is from the town, you are sure to acquire an out of this world experience. This is the perfect spot for those seeking for an escape from their busy and mundane reality, nature enthusiasts will most definitely satiate their craves for the warm embrace of mother nature. If you're in town, don't hesitate to pop by this hidden gem.

One caveat, the road leading to this river is quite hidden and incredibly narrow, SUVs might struggle to...

Reached at Alur Lempah by 3pm on 31/7/2022. It was gloomy weather and otw to Alur Lempah, it rains heavily but stopped upon reaching Alur Lempah. Google alor Lempah on map and it will lead you to the tiny narrow road next to the river. Only one car can pass through the narrow passage towards the parking on the road side. Limited parking. We came on late afternoon and was on gloomy day therefore not crowded. The dam water was a bit dirty and resemble milky pool water. Feeling unease to dip on it. However, the scenery is good and saw lots of people dipped into the water and were playing happily. If you are nearby, can drop by and have fun. Many people were setting up their tents and picnic over there. It is approximately an hour plus from KL...
