My last visit here was 12 years ago. Many things have changed. Orang asli inhabitants at the RPS kg Pertak collect RM1 for entry into the trail. Campers are charged RM10 per head to set up tents at several sites along the trail. Some places are truly filthy with plastic waste and charred foodstuff lying around. Even though the Hulu Selangor Town Council have left a RORO bin at a public parking area, only responsible hikers are keeping this public trail clean. Read moreThe location is picturesque, and the water is clean and deep. Watch out for the water's current, which could get stronger in a matter of minutes. There is a secluded campsite if you trek farther into the jungle. Reservations must be made in advance if you want to camp there. Locals have mentioned that a tiger was spotted around these mountains recently so be aware. DONT LITTER AND CLEAN UP THE MESS FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE!!!! Has limited car parking but today they allowed vehicles to park at a new, adjacent, further in, big crusher run parking area (hence 3 star rating) which looks like it was created as part of an electric grid pylon project that is on going. Need to pay rm5 though but if it goes towards the well being of the orang asli and upkeep of the attractions here, then I gladly contribute.
