My girlfriend and I spent two weeks at the amazing Fushifaru. Smaller than other islands, you can be sure to find many relaxing areas at the resort. The sand is soft, and it is not just one island...this hotel owns a second nearby island which you can go to on their Private Sandbank offering which is highly recommended. Imagine having lunch on an island which nobody else is on!
I did substantial research on hotels and concluded that this hotel is of reasonable value for money, more-so compared to other five-star hotels in the Maldives, especially during this time.
We stayed in the brand-new-for-December-2020 PREMIUM POOL WATER VILLA which was BEYOND EXPECTATIONS. An ultra-modern room with the small but positive additions of USB ports, wireless charging, Bluetooth sound system, along with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space, encompassed in a spacious and open-plan setup with the bathroom. The rooms offer plenty of privacy, with no rock or coral to step onto when going into the sea.
We also stayed in the Pool Beach Villa, built just a few years ago. The Sunset side offers more beach compared to the Sunrise side of the island. There is ample bathroom space with dual sinks and two showers [one being a garden rain style].
Whilst we expected a little more food choice, the food itself is of high quality and tasty, with two live-stations at dinner time + the usual variety of options you would find at any hotel buffet.
TRANSFERS AND COVID: You will be greeted upon arrival and brought to the seaplane airport terminal to wait for the next seaplane which seem to leave 2-3 times a day to the hotel. As a negative result is required to get into the country, seeing all staff wear masks at the hotel is the closest you will get to thinking about COVID!
TOP TIP: contact the hotel in advance to get the best package upgrade price for the hotel's Premium All-Inclusive option. You then have everything included with no unexpected 'this is expensive' thoughts while you are there.
The Premium All Inclusive includes unlimited laundry, a spa treatment every several days, the Private Sandbank trip, more choice of drinks at the bar, with daily mini-bar replenishment. If you like massages, the Premium option makes it worth it.
Big thanks to our Resident Host, Yuro, and all the bar staff who kept us topped up, in addition to the amazing chefs, restaurant team + all the staff on the beach wine tasting / Jenga / cocktail making evening that...
Read moreIncredible experience Fushifaru is truly a paradise! The Journey starts off from Seaplane to a warm welcome by the entire staff of Fushifaru on arrival. They greet you with traditional music and refreshing drink to freshen up. Each guest is assigned a host who takes care of your entire stay and ensures everything is aligned and on time for all activities. From the starting of our trip to the end all was taken care by our host Ms. Cathy. We were booked for 2 days in Pool Sunrise Beach Villa followed by 1 day stay in Water Villa. The rooms are so beautiful and very very clean. We had the experience of Full board which means Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner all was inclusive of drinks. The food is delicious and so fresh each and every dish we had was outstanding in taste, quality and freshness. Infact, the CHEF Mr. Kadri and Mr. Sumon was so nice that they even had their meals with us, such a personalized experience I have never had before. The cuisine found in the island is a mix of Arabic, Indian, Sri Lankan and Oriental influences. The resort also had a diverse international menu as well as traditional Maldivian dishes. Our server Ms. Leni & Mr. Shareef was always very active during our meal services.
Since it was my Birthday, the team surprised me with beautiful decorations in our Water Villa with a customized birthday cake and Fushifaru’s hat along with a personalized letter from the General Manager Mr. Ahmed. He is really a gem and very friendly, giving me insight on the resort. From day 1 he convinced me to travel Maldives to experience this beautiful country and off course his Island Fushifaru, I must say, the overall experience, I felt a deep gratitude for being alive and experiencing what my thoughts can manifest. During my trip, I had several adventures, sand-bank, Sea-bobbing, snorkeling, etc. I had the tradtional special massage, attended the coconut show and tried the ethic Maldivian dress “Dhivehi Libaas”.
My trip to Maldives was absolutley amazing. I honestly didn’t want to leave, but my time to return to Dubai was fast approaching. Going on this kind of trip really taught me the importance of isolation and deep relaxation. I want to thanks each and everyone in the Fushifaru Resort for such a great service. I recommend you guys get to experience this heaven on earth soon and get out of the busy city life and into...
Read moreWe had a great experience here.
Rooms were nice and spacious, clean and well stocked, as all inclusive guests we got free use of the mini bar, and select drinks all around the island. (excluding premium alcohol, which is typical for the Maldives)
The bathroom was great with an outdoor shower and bath as well as a toilet, and a rain shower in the open, directly under the sky.
The main restaurant is very nice with lots of options for everyone. Dinner is often themed around different cuisines from around the world. We had no problem finding something delicious every night. Breakfast was a highlight and again plentiful, with options for everyone.
The island is small enough so you can walk all the way around in 15 to 20 minutes. You have the main bar with the infinity pool at one end. The restaurant on the other and the water sports and dive center near the arrival jetty. There's also a sports court just behind reception. And the spa is located in the middle.
The island is split between sunset and sunrise sides.
We had a villa on the sunset side which I would strongly recommend as the better option because the sun rises very early and you're often in the shade during the day if you want to sit just outside your villa on the sunrise side.
We did lots of diving which I would very strongly recommend. Just make sure you bring enough money as everything you purchase in the hotel will have a 10% service charge as well as a 16% government tax added to the cost. This is for excursions activities and drinks and food (all inclusive items are exempt from this) adding a few photos of prices at the end of 2023.
The staff is super friendly and everyone is very polite. We spent a lot of time in and around the diving center speaking to all the members of staff there as that was one of our interests and they all had great stories to share and recommendations where to go diving.
All in all a very positive experience.....
