Very disappointing visit.
We went there during our vacation in Malta, hoping to have a better knowledge of the biggest vineyard in Malta. I went to visit several vineyards around the world and this one was very disappointed. The landscape around is nice, but the visit was not up to our expectations. The (very friendly) lady sat us down at the reception and talked for 5 minutes about the story and how they make the wine, then we went to see the fermentation room, where we were just there to “ see” - no further explanation. Then because of another visit at the same time, we went to do the wine tasting, where we tasted 4 wines and shared a (very complete) food platter. We sat in the (very hot) terrace for over an hour, waiting for further explanations about the visit and we asked one of the ladies working there since we were just waiting with no explanations. Finally, the lady told us we needed to go downstairs once we were ready so we directly went and we went to see the cellar. Again, no explanation. We were just left there with no directive.
Overall, disappointing visit as I was hoping to hear more about it and the price of 30 euros per person...
Read moreReally, really disappointed from the whole experience. Superficial and totally impersonal are the words to describe it. Even after telling us how their visitor numbers have dropped, they didn't seem to put any effort to treat properly the ones that took the time to visit the winery. After a very brief shallow tour we got served 4 wines at the scorching hot terrace and they weren't even chilled at the right temperature. By the time I got to the second white it was already undrinkable. Disproportionate food serving, the plate was unnecessary huge, we left half of it. And after paying 50 Euro (for 2 ppl) they had the audacity to try and charge us for a small bottle of mineral water. I work with wine, I sell wine, I've been to countless tastings all over the world, this was definitely not the...
Read moreSorry to have to say I was disappointed with this wine tasting tour. For €35 per person I expected something really good, but what we got was rather chaotic. We could barely hear a word the guide was saying, and there were a lot of other people to squeeze into small spaces. The tour of the facilities was somewhat cursory, and we were then seated at individual tables. The tasting turned out not to be led by the guide, and instead we were given cards to read about the wines ourselves. We had a long wait for any wine to appear, and when it did, it turned out to be the second of the wines we were due to taste - they had forgotten a whole room of people when distributing the first wine. The wines were nice but the quality of the experience was poor...
