Salina Nature Reserve — Attraction in Naxxar

We walked from the cruise port to go birding here. Many good birds. Check eBird hotspots to see what we saw. Poorly maintained. No signs. Use Google map satellite view to find trail. This was an amazing learning opportunity and to be so close to nature in Malta. It is a nature reserve where the birds and other inhabitants stay. The team takes care of it very well. Nimrod was a great host and tour guide. Many fun facts were learned and questions asked.

Super friendly knowledgable staff - excellent education for all ages - great to see freshwater species in the pond as well as the range of birds on the salt pans. Was super awesome to see the first nesting Little Ringed Plover and chicks on Malta.
