I visited Eden Cinemas two days in a row during my stay in Malta, and honestly, it was such a pleasant experience both times. We were mainly looking for a way to escape the intense summer heat after a near heatstroke and this cinema turned out to be the perfect refuge.
One of the first things I appreciated was the parking. If you validate your ticket at the cinema, you only pay €3 for 4 hours, which I think is incredibly reasonable, especially considering how expensive parking can be in some areas.
The cinema itself was clean and well-maintained. There weren’t many people there when we visited, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and quiet, a nice contrast to the usual noisy crowds you sometimes get at the movies.
I also have to say, the popcorn was surprisingly good. I went for the sweet popcorn and found it both cheap and really tasty - definitely a highlight for me. It’s nice when cinemas don’t overcharge for snacks, and this one struck a great balance between quality and price.
One thing that caught me off guard was the 10-minute intermission halfway through the film. At first it seemed a bit unusual, especially since I’m used to movies playing straight through, but I actually ended up appreciating it. It gave me a chance to use the bathroom without missing any of the movie, and I noticed others took advantage of the break as well.
All in all, Eden Cinemas provided a cool, calm, and comfortable experience, perfect for beating the heat and enjoying a film or two. I’d happily come back next time...
Read moreI had the chance to see several movies this past month at Eden, the decorations, food, cleanliness and service are good for the most part and it's easier and faster to buy movie tickets and food online, if you are considering using that service, give it a go, on the other hand I am personally not accustomed to the intermissions as I think they bring you out of the experience, at least if the movie is really good, I understand that many people find it convenient so I don't have major problems regarding that, what I really find frustrating is the volume most of their movie theaters are set up to, as it can ve unbearable in intense scenes were explosions or loud music is being played, I had to cover my ears a couple of times in two different movies, I don't know who is responsible for setting the adequate volume level on every showing but someone needs to fix that issue, one thing is seeing the dolby atmos logo at the start of a movie with a loud sound that might surprise moviegoers and get them excited about what they are about to see or experience, another totally different thing is progressively leaving your customers with a hearing loss without them even noticing or being able to do...
Read moreBought tickets for film and snacks online like they encourage so as to avoid the queue. Soon as we arrive we find a queue of 200 people waiting to buy snacks. Went looking for the pre paid snack counter and even that had a queue, right next to the banner that says next time buy your snacks online and skip the queue.
We decide to head straight to the hall to not miss the beginning of the film. Film was meant to start at 20:30, didn’t start before 21:00.
My partner went to the bar during the intermission to get the drinks and snacks we’d already paid for a week before and she waited 10 mins to be served, only to be given a 36gram bag of sweets instead of the 128gram paid for.
The place is understaffed and whoever is in charge has no idea of planning ahead for what must one of the busiest nights of the year for cinemas.
Then they blame the falling patronage of cinema goers on streaming services and illegal iptv streams. Maybe they should take a look at the whole cinema experience instead of trying to blame anyone but themselves.
In total missed 20 mins of the film an hour and a half long.
Next time i think about going to the cinema I’ll try the embassy...
