Qawra Tower, also known as Qawra Point Tower or Fra Ben Tower, is a small watchtower in Qawra, limits of St. Paul's Bay, Malta. It was completed in 1638 as the fourth of the Lascaris towers. An artillery battery was built around the tower in 1715. Today, the tower and battery are a restaurant.

Qawra Tower (Torri tal-Qawra), auch bekannt als Torri ta' Fra Ben, ist ein kleiner Wachtturm in Qawra. 1638 wurde er als vierter der Lascaris-Türme in der Nähe der Spitze des Qawra Point’s erbaut. 1715 wurde der Turm mit einer Artillerie-Batterie erweitert. Der Turm sicherte im Westen den Eingang zur St. Paul’s Bay und die Salina Bay im Osten. Ab 1659 stand er in mit den De Redin Türmen Tal-Għallis im Westen und mit Ta’ Qalet Marku im Osten in Verbindung. Die Batterie dient heute als Schwimmbad, um den Turm wird das Restaurant Ta Fra Ben betrieben. Der Turm ist in einem schlechten baulichen Zustand.

This tower is still intact and stands in a restaurant/pool in Qawra. This is a small family friendly lido, quieter than its neighbour and is good value for money. Drinks and snacks are reasonably priced. There are two pools. One is deep for swimming, the other suitable for children and non swimmers. There are showers available to wash off the salt water from the pools. Great view of the sea and surrounding rocky beaches. It’s also a good place to...

Spectacular views especially during sunrise and sunset. Sea almost always clean and crystal clear and inner bay is most often protected from rough seas so more likely to have calm and safe water for swimming and...
