Marilla Park — Attraction in Illinois

I go for the disc golf course. I typically frequent the Joliet area disc golf courses, but when I'm looking for a quieter park I venture out this way. There's a lot less traffic noise, I don't ever really have issues with folks walking across the fairways, and it's all in all a nice clean park. Most of the holes are pretty basic, but when you get to the last 4 holes, they get pretty good. As a disc golf course this would probably take home 3/5 on DGCourseReview, but based on the park itself, the area it's in, I'm really happy small towns like streator and pontiac have dedicated some decent land to such a niche sport. Marilla has an 18 hole frisbee golf course, hiking trails in the woods, a trail along the creek and a trail through the prairie, fishing, restrooms and grills at the pavilions. Deer, turkey and other wildlife can often be seen. There is a kiosk as you enter the park that has information about Streator and old pictures of the park. Great place to bring the kids. Very open big. Only a few trails to walk. The disk golf course is amazing. 18 holes with concrete tees. This place a a creek and a nice little fishing pond. That was just recently dredged. Their is a ball dimond and restrooms. Not much of a play ground. I do wish that would change. 2 slides and a few swings. Little bit of a bummer for small kids.
