Very muddy trail down there. Go there as early as possible (reach the trail at the latest around 9am) when attempting to go down to the foot of the waterfalls, as it will be dangerous going down there when torrential rains are coming around midday. It will become very slippery and down the gorge at the foot waterfalls people even died already when there was a lot of rainfall during a typhoon. So please make sure to be safe. Only go with people that know the area as the last bit is very steep and you can fall and hurt yourself easily. The waterfalls themselves are very beautiful and worth the extremely painful hike down there though. It takes about 5-6 hours from the parking lot to go down and back up for fit people. For the last bit bringing your own rope is very much recommended as the ropes there are very old and not to be trusted. Would not recommend if you are not comfortable with getting dirty and...

Incredible place. First part to the top of the waterfall is quite easy with some very nice view point. There are some water crossing which add to the experience.

The second part to the botton is where its gets tricky and more dangerous. It goes down very steep descent very to will have to use your hands to get down in some place.Very slippery during when wet.

if you are an experience hiker you can go down to the waterfall without a guide, but i would recommend taking a guide. There is a part where you have to walk on the edge of a cliff using only roots as footholds.

Don`t attempt this hike during rainy season as the river will rise you may be stuck...

Relatively moderate hike at the beginning. Things get serious as you descend. Proper hiking shoes required. Ropes as well. First aid box and always let people know where you are.

I did the hike on a sunny Sunday morning but got surprised by heavy rain. The rain did not stop. The path became slippery. There are several river crossings. The water level rose at tremendous speed. Became impossible to cross without making a human chain and tying ourselves to a rope.

Don't go without a guide. Many of us slipped. Some got minor injuries. To avoid during rainy season.

The views are...

Breathtaking spot. One of the highlights of my Mauritius trip. Landscape views are sensational, and seeing the cascading waterfalls from above is exhilarating. Amazing spot to visit, bring a picnic. Pro tip: you can make it down to the waterfalls below if you take the trail down, across the flowing water at the cliff up the rocks you will find the path with a t shirt hanging from the tree. I’ve read it is a dangerous path down, so perhaps watch a YouTube walkthrough first. Even without going down to the bottom for a swim it is a great spot to visit.
