Curious Chamarel — Attraction in Chamarel

Updated to respond to the reply from Curious Mauritius. Thank you for your response and for taking my review as a constructive critisism. Please check my 2 last uploaded pictures, we reached much before 16:00. As my timestamp shows, we took some 1st pictures it was 16:01 after we were told it is closed. We left disappointed before 16:05 since the pic shows on the way a picture of the upside down house at your spot. Yes, please do mention the last entrance time and also a board outside could be helpful. That day, instead of visiting 7colored earth 1st or wasting time there, a board at your entrance could inform that last entrance is at 16:00, we would have optimized our visit. I am local but had friends with me from abroad. It left a bad impression and there were another tourist with his son who were not let IN and it was before 16:00 😒 --------------‐---------------------------- It is written online 9:30 to 17:00 daily. We reached at 15:40 but they said "we take last people in at 15:15" as simple as that! Very disappointed that we drove so long for this! I was too upset, to even ask why! Luckily, we did not buy tickets in advance! Poor management, at least annonce it openly on radio and all or public should call daily to ask? 😒 Not recommended to buy tickets in advance! Nice place .. but the lady who was inside the room , we asked her to take a pic for us, she refused, she told us we can take our picture ourselves, me and sis couldn't have a pic together, but I guess her relatives (5 people) were there, she took many pics everywhere for them. She told my son that he needs to stay with his parents, my son told her 'yes I will stay with my mum , she replied my son ' I said to stay with PARENTS ', I turned and told her my son has only his mum , no father. She should be very careful while talking to kids. She even asked us if we finished near Mr Bean playing instrument/ fishing net background. We didn't even turn to bother about her ,then she left. Is there any time limit to stay inside,I don't think so,her relatives were still there, they came before us. She started telling us about her internal work, we were not even interested to hear, if something break, she will have to call maintenance bla blaaa blaaaaa ....... Reception lady was nice, she guided us. She even guides us how to take pictures, she took one pics for all of us. A big appreciation for her. Good...

Quite interesting and unique place in Mauritius. Seems ticket prices are increased. A place of optical illusion. When I visited some work was going on in the premises, some new things will be installed or exhibited. If you have Mauritius residents ID card, make use of that get discount in ticket price. I think a 3-hrs visit will be good enough to observe and explore each and everything there. Make sure you have a good camera (DSLR/smartphone) because inside the building, light is very low, it's just the ambience maintained for the illusion. Outside garden also has many things to explore and mainly to have interesting photos. The staffs are helpful and friendly, they will guide you on how the photos should be taken for best results (read illusion). There are puzzles to solve and that will keep you engaged for some time. Very good place for kids especially. When I visited , their official website was down for upgradation, hence couldn't book tick online in advance, but you can buy tickets at the place itself using QR code and cards payment.
