The owner is arrogant, quick to pass blame, and a horrible man if something goes wrong!!! I'm outraged at the patheticness and accusations. This guy has a nerve .... disgraceful behaviour. A manipulative liar!!! Saying we had no intention of paying is a lie, he told us not to bother paying and to just go... absolutely pathetic! Messages are on show for everyone to see! Sorry mate but you ain't Mr perfect! On entering, we were greeted by a friendly lady, who gave us a tour of the place. She was very helpful, polite, and wanted to meet any needs we had. The pool area is absolutely beautiful with a great view. WiFi is available. The pool was well kept, clean, and a nice refreshing temperature. The bar is small and has a small choice on drinks. The restaurant is beside the pool and restaurant, it has a great view over the valley and has blinds in case of bad weather. There is a set menu, to which me and my husband and both didn't like it. The chef was happy enough to make us something no included on the menu, which we were extremely grateful for. The electricity isn't great though as the lights were always flickering. The service from all staff members was exceptional. However, the same can't be said about the owner. I fell ill shortly after eating the chicken dish, we messaged the owner online and mentioned I had got food poisoning. The owner immediately went on the defence and said, "It is definitely not food poisoning." He kindly offered to meet us at reception to give us some medication. My husband walked up to reception, as I was unable to. Unfortunately, he wasn't met by the owner, only the receptionist. The day after I wasn't feeling any better and had infact got worse upon checking out, things got quite tense, as my husband went to hand our keys in the owner was present, my husband asked where the nearest hospital was to which the owner stated we should've gone yesterday, my husband mentioned you normally go to the doctor after 48 hours, my husband kindly explained we would leave them a good review as i do them often, the owner appeared to take offense and asked what we were trying to pull, not the kind of attitude an owner should have, he accused us of lying about the food poisioning and said gastro was going round mauritius, we exolained we had literally arrived that day got in the car we hired and drove straight here to our first hotel. The symptoms came on sudden. We were both glad to be leaving after that experience. We later had to stop an activity we had planned as I became weak and faint, they called a nurse to come see me, after I explained what had happened they agreed it was most likely food poisoning. He wrote me a list of medications I collected from the pharmacy, I spent the next day resting and missed what we had planned. I lost 4kg in total after this. To say this was my honeymoon, I'm...

A year on: I wanted to post this straight away but got caught up in life. However, I think the fact that the magic of this place remains as strong as it was a year ago speaks volumes.||We got engaged here. It wasn’t initially planned, but I don’t think I could have chosen a more beautiful place to do it. At the time, the prices were so low that I was slightly worried about the legitimacy of the place. However, the pictures truly don’t lie; they capture 100% of the beauty of the surrounding area. You genuinely feel as though you’re living in the rainforest.||The pool is just stunning. It feels almost like a "for-visuals-only" pool, it’s that beautiful. It really gives you a sensation of luxury. We were fortunate to have the room next to the restaurant. While I can see how this might be an issue for some, the small number of smiling, friendly guests only added to the homely feel – an unusual but delightful contrast in a rainforest setting.||The food was absolutely gorgeous. Portions were generous (10/10), taste was impeccable (10/10), and there was enough variety for even the pickiest of eaters.||The rooms were phenomenal, maximising natural light and providing all the comforts of home. Being thousands of miles away in the middle of a rainforest, yet having these familiar touches, was beyond amazing.||The grounds themselves have a lovely path to wander around, making the experience even more immersive. It’s truly a gem of a place.||While I understand that not every experience will reflect ours, the moment I arrived, I knew this was the perfect place to propose. The staff and owner went above and beyond to help, even hilariously accommodating a last-minute change of plans and allowing me to propose on the owner’s own porch. This unexpected gesture made the experience all the more extraordinary.||To summarise, if you stay here, plan a relaxing day to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Make sure to have dinner at the restaurant – it’s an absolute must. This place is a rare gem in an already breathtakingly...

We had an amazing stay at Chamarel Mountain Chalets for our honeymoon! The staff were absolutely lovely, attentive, and very professional. They took great care of my wife, who has a peanut allergy, by preparing safe and adapted meals for her, which was a real relief during our holiday. The food was delicious, varied, and clearly homemade. The dinner menu changes every evening, showing that everything is freshly prepared. The chalet was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed. Yes, there were a few insects, but that’s normal when you’re surrounded by nature, and the staff are always available if needed. The access road is a bit winding, but I had a Kia Picanto and it went perfectly fine. The infinity pool is stunning, and the location is ideal to visit the Chamarel Rhumerie, the Seven Coloured Earths, or Le Morne. A special thank you to the team for their thoughtful gesture in the chalet and the complimentary cocktails, which made our honeymoon even more memorable. Overall, it’s an authentic, peaceful, and warm place that I would 100% recommend!

Wow, what a location! We stayed at Chamarel Mountain Chalets in Chalet number 7 for 5 nights and were extremely amazed how beautiful, peaceful and calm this place is. This chalet's bedroom has a view into the nature and the pool is right next to it. Also big thanks to Julie, Didier and the whole team! Whatever you need, great cocktails, some recommendations or just water bottles for your next trip, Didier is your man! We also got to know the owner and his two dogs, he told us a lot about this place and even showed us a wild chameleon in his garden. Breakfast with fresh fruits and dinner is also very nice. The only remark we have is that there could use some more variation (espacially if you stay 5 nights), on the other hand the team does fulfill individual requests. 10/10 would come back again!! Cheers, Mira and Christian
