Alright so I'm still a student here, so this is a review based off of just ONE year's experience. I was recommended this uni by 2 friends (one ex-alumni and one current student) so I had some expectations.
The campus, amazing. Small, yet still big enough for the important stuff. Services, solid. Students actually underappreciate the library access and gym(SPARC) too much. It's all neatly lined up for us to use. Lecturers, great. Each lecturer does exactly what they're supposed to; GUIDE and teach. All the lecturers are well versed in their subject matter and trained well enough to help out even the least participative students. Courses, nice. A subjective view, but I think that the courses offered here are rather well rounded and should benefit everyone in the long term.
Now, I'm not the biggest fan of campus life. So long as you stay away from the drama and gossip of other students, your days at MDX shouldn't go bad at all.
The cafeteria food is average, nothing to brag about. But it should do for anyone who wants to simply eat something if ever he/she forgot to eat breakfast on a specific day (Look, I'm only human...) or just needs a little pick-me-up.
The toilets are fine and found on every corner of the campus, so that's helpful for students who have stomach issues.
The classes are VERY nice. They're all air conditioned, have projectors and teachers' monitors/cameras for handling online classes or presentations. The lights are motion activated, so that's cool too. The view in each class is fine, but some classes give you a clear view of the ocean and mountains. Simply put, it's calming. Also, the whole campus has WiFi. This directly complements the online paltform on which all subject matter can be found and through which assignments are submitted.
Other cool aspects of the uni are the student house room (for gaming and extrovert activities), study rooms and the hornsey library.
Now, my review is purely for the doubtful student who doesn't know where he/she wants to study. If you consider party life and social activities key factors when choosing a uni, your decision won't necessarily be the best for your career. However, MDX has you covered there too. Of course it's not obligatory, but if you so wish you can join a club or society - like the music society or the debate club - or simply attend some student parties. (Not sure who organises them)
But if there's one key point from this review, it is that your time at MDX will not be wasted if you know what you're aiming for. It is a bit expensive, yes. Nonetheless, investing in a MDX education can help your career immensely if you have the funds. The degree you get from MDX Mauritius will be the same as one you would get from MDX London- so it is 100% internationally recognised. Matter of fact, it's even ranked by Times magazine and many more, so the product here speaks for itself. And before anyone asks, no. It's not difficult to learn here or get used to the system.
Oh, and the folks in the student office and reception are amazingly helpful.
So I would recommend not thinking twice. If you find a course here interesting and you have the cash, sign up.
4 stars.
Edit after 2nd year: So, the more time you invest into being on campus, the more you will grow fond of the staff and personnel. This is a very cool part of the overall experience at the university. The very friendly lady at the desk (bless her hardworking soul) even remembers our names! That's the "personal touch" that's necessary for a friendly atmosphere. Something strange, however, is that the campus bathrooms often have water troubles and that results in the bathrooms being shut down for a while sometimes. Still, the staff does their job in getting everything back on track asap. As for the academic side of things, still no complaints. So, just like last year, my review will stay more or less the...

From amazing staff that are available constantly to aid fellow students to the overall great views of the various mountains and horizon, it's been a good one. Oh also a good place to catch some amazing sunsets! π
All in all I would definetly recommend the University to anyone, it's not perfect but great in most ways, especially for the price point. Do check out the their website to get more info about various courses, entry requirements, fee...
