Good prices can never justify dreadful customer experience Even though the supermarket was not so busy, only a few tills were open. One could understand practical reason why this would happen but no communication of any form is provided letting customers just wonder and get frustrated only when they reach the tills... In addition, cashiers are customarily frustrated with their job and accordingly with customers and things just get worse when asked to pay attention to their behaviour. One could assume the number of customers lining up at their till is putting legitimate pressure but this is basically the case each time I visit the place - weekly. Cashiers are human and can have a bad day - we all do - but this is close to systematic which leads me to understand that the way their management is organising their job is the root cause. Again, good prices is a strong driver to come back... but no pleasure whatsoever. One last thing: impossible to reach anyone in charge on the spot to share feedback, and whenever possible in the past, the absence of change after 17 years just makes it discouraging. There...

Access is a mess at the moment. Once inside it gets better. I like the former tatie -Giffy. These are shops you do not find elsewhere and they are good value for money and stock really interesting products. The sports shop and cash and carry which is opposite it seem to be in constant competition about who can play music the loudest and that's really irritating. You could easily go deaf. They seem clueless when it comes to being reasonable with decibels and their choice of music is questionable.

The supermarket is one of the worse in terms of customer care in the island. I always seem to experience long queues, rude cashiers or aisle employees. I tend to avoid the supermarket as much as possible. It's just not pleasant. The food court has sen and ken which is always a positive and the best donuts on the island (little nelly). But it really smells and despite the renovation it looks run down and filthy. I have experienced people smoking around me in the food court as well which is a nightmare if you are...

BEWARE! DANGER! We visited this supermarket for the first time in 4 years and it was even more dirty and filthy than we remember it from before. It was smelling unpleasant when we entered like rotten prawns and the air wasn't fresh. In general the products offered aren't different any longer from what you can buy in other supermarkets around the island, however they are much more expensive in general. Obviously there are shoppers not comparing prices as otherwise they would buy somewhere else. Insane were the cleaning and hygiene aspects of all the cooling and freezer units, starting from dairy to charcuterie and veg displays, wondering when they saw a cleaning the last time. Most shocking were the freezer units which were unbelievable dirty and dead flies everywhere on, in and between the food products. Under European laws this supermarket would have been shut down by the health authorities. We name this supermarket No.1 in Mauritius for being the dirtiest and most...

What does it help to renovate if there is no staff to serve, i.e., customer wat to buy frozen seafood and it has to be weight, but no staff avaliable 🤯 Customer ask othe staff, and they just say someone will in 5 - 10 minutes. READ PREVIOUS REVIEWS Clean supermarkets, but pricey and Service is bad. The 10 items cashier is not enforced 😞 Do not buy any alcohol with bottle deposit as they demand that you either buy the same or provide a recipe to prove that you purchased it from them!!! Then on public holidays or other e.g. Mother's Day, they are understaffed but moreso for customer service and their baggage storage where customers are required to leave and pick up where shopping!!!! Here we are again. They have status count thus closed until 12h00. BUT NOW IT IS 12H19 AND STILL CLOSED. Customers are waiting outside, but do they care ? NO!!!

Jumbo is one of the best supermarket in Mauritius, we're clear about this! Yet today asked by my daughter, I bought a mille feuilles.. which I never really buy as I am myself a baker/Chef/Professional culinary trainer. The mille feuilles was not at all fresh! Not crunchy but soaking in a 'pastry cream' which was neither a cream to eat as it was turned into an acidic cream, not edible at all. Which has nothing to do with a mille feuille, a very crispy freshly baked thin puff pastry cake filled with a yummy vanilla pastry cream and top up with a fondant marbré. Date of production today and shelf life 3 days! It's sad and outraging to experience such things when it comes to food. Where is the moral sense of the one making food for a large scale of customers? Would that person eat a product which is not edible for kids, and adults?
