Horrible experience!!!!! Waste of my time!!!! My family and I have done lots of tours and all have been wonderful until we visited Baron Balche. First of all the guide (if you could call him that) did not introduce himself not gave a welcome. He just asked for our tour tickets and walked away assuming we’d follow. Which, in fact we did seeing as it was supposed to be a tour. In. Typical tour... you get the tour of the winery then at the end you get an overview of the wines.. etc... a little about the wine, owner, etc... no... our tour guide was dry in character and went straight to pouring wine and handing us our glasses. No tour, no information as to what type of wine we we’re tasting. When asked if we’d be getting a tour he said in a little bit then turned and proceeded to have a lengthy conversation with a couple who had no interest in getting a tour. After a lengthy wait we decided to leave. When asked to speak to a manager they said “he wasn’t there” when we gave our “concerns “ to the cashier a gentleman came up... not introducing himself and ask if we at least tasted the wine. And proceeded to ask what it was that we were seeking to receive from the complaint. Seriously, very bad customer service. The only reason for the one star is that there wasn’t an option for a zero. It was a waste of our time and will be of yours. Use your time wisely and don’t go there. You won’t be missing anything. Very small not much to look at and bad...

Visited Thursday, July 24 – Barón Balché was an unforgettable stop! We did Package A, which included a fantastic guided tour through the winery. Our host, Guillermo, was outstanding—his deep knowledge of wine, the winemaking process, and the history of the vineyard made the experience truly memorable.

We got to see the wine barrels up close and learn about each step in the process, which gave us a deeper appreciation for what goes into every bottle. Guillermo also shared the story behind Barón Balché—including its name, inspired by a sacred Mayan drink and culture—which added a fascinating layer of meaning to the entire tasting.

The wines were excellent—rich, expressive, and clearly crafted with care. A beautiful stop in Valle de Guadalupe that’s well worth it. Sip local....

For the first time we visited this absolutely lovely place with few friends. Very nice and authentic underground vine cellars with winemaker Oscar Castillo who treated us very special on the tour and wine tasting. Our tour and wine tasting was extensive which it showed that the staff are taking their time to make sure you’re enjoying every moment. The food was absolutely delicious. Even though we got to the restaurant late but the chef Crystian Acosta ordered the kitchen to stay open and serve us. First we were greeted by owner’s son Juan junior and later by owner Juan Rios and he offered us a glass of special wine from his personal bottle. We enjoyed the night with very delicious dessert and live music. One of the best night out we ever had...

3.5 stars. Good, not great. This review is for wine and food. We bought a bottle of their 2013 Zinfandel. It was okay, better with food. Maybe a bit corked. Personally, I wouldn't buy it again. We also shared a glass of their 2B blend (Sauv Blanc/Viognier), which had a flavorful taste. For lunch we started with the aguachile de camaron. Plentiful, spicy and tasty. We also shared their hamburger, which was delicious, but many of the steak fries were under cooked. Service was okay. The winery rep was kind, walked us to our table and explained a bit of the zin. Our restaurant server (whoever that was) was simply non - existent. Not sure what the cost of a tasting is, but this place has bottle pricing that rivals Napa, without the pedigree.

This was my first wine tasting experience and I was impressed. Although, I decided to wine taste in Mexico-Valle Guadalupe, it made the experience more memorable. I booked a reservation online, however, when I arrived there was no reservation under my name. A gentleman by the name of Kevin saved the day and took care of me. Also, he conducted the wine tour for our group. The winery itself is appealing, accompanied by a relax atmosphere and a variety of wine selections. I enjoyed the winery tour and friendly service. In addition, I purchased two bottles of wine. Thank you for the great experience and keep up the good work.
