I personally really enjoyed visiting Solar Fortun. Yes, I will agree with the rest of the reviews that directions to get there were quite confusing, however, it was very well worth it. It is a family owned winery and very family oriented as well. Unlike many of the wineries that are becoming very commercialized, this one isn't. The ambience is very relaxing and the owners themselves are very inviting and friendly. They even have hammocks on trees that you can relax on!!! This is definitely a hidden gem. The wine and food is spectacular! The Tacos de Canasta are a must try!! Their wine selecton is great as well! The drive to get there is a little bumpy since it takes you on a dirt road for about 2 miles. You might feel like you're going the wrong way but just follow the road and eventually you will get there. The owner did mention that they are currently working on posting more signs to make it easier for visitors to get to their winery. In my opinion, getting to it was all part of...
Read moreThis winery was the surprise of the Valle on our most recent trip. Asking for recommendations at another winery, we were directed to Solar Fortún. The drive out was down a long dirt road, but once we arrived, it was like a little oasis in the valley. We were greeted by the owner and welcomed to sit where we would. The winery offered some really unique wines- particularly the rose. The wines were tasty and more affordable than many of the wineries around. The only wine we ended up taking home was from this vineyard. The owner recommended ordering the tuna carpaccio with the 2nd tasting and the pepper and strawberry mix with the tuna was surprising. Lovely patio under the branches of a large oak(?) tree. Top...
