Had a great time here it was fantastic to meet some of the locals, which were extremely friendly and always willing to take me out to dance. One of the individuals I met was an elderly man, who gave me the scoop on half of the town that was there dancing lol I laughed the entire night and enjoyed the atmosphere tremendously. Even met The Queen of El Parque de la Marimba she introduced her self as such, but the elderly man told me that she was actually not the queen haha but considered herself the I-Ternal queen in the park! Highly recommend this little spot!

If there is one worthwhile thing in the ugly town of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, it’s Marimba Park. A real pleasure and probably a cultural treasure. I hope it never ends. To put it another way, why the hell are you in TG if you don’t come here? It’s a dirty ‘ol town.

If there is one worthwhile thing in the ugly town of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, it’s Marimba Park. A real pleasure and probably a cultural treasure. I hope it never ends. To put it another way, why the hell are you in TG if you don’t come here? It’s a dirty ‘ol town.

This place has marimba music most of the time not now because of Covid 19. This place has lots ladies that sell their textiles with Mexican flowers and beautiful designs for only 50 pesos. There is a restaurant that sells gringas and pastor tacos that are delicious. You could also get marquesitas is like a crunchy cookie with Nutella so delicious (not from chiapas thou ). Pretty safe and has lots of hotels, restaurants, bars and local vendors you do not need to book a hotel in advance there are tons to...

They have marimba after 6pm. It was the only fun when we visited Tuxtla. The park is a little dirty. They should have announced that there would be no marimba on a long weekend. We as tourists dont have the chance to enjoy it everyday. The only thing I could advise was the ice cream shop named Maya. I came to buy here 3 times...
