Laura (Arturo's wife) took me round 4 cenotes on her motorbike. Even though there was a bit of a language barrier that didn't stop us from laughing! They don't speak English and shouldn't need to, so practice your Spanish beforehand or get out Google translator. I got a taxi from Mérida to Homun (using Cabify or Uber can cost up to $500 one way - if you do this I highly recommend to ask the cab driver to wait for you and offer to pay cash as incentive - I had to pay $200 extra for him to wait). They collected me from San Jose restaurant and off we set. You need to pay at each cenote $50 and then you pay Arturo and Laura what you think the tour is worth. Laura took loads of photos and videos for me and as a solo female traveller it was really nice to have a female guide. They will take you to as many cenotes as you want, just let them know how many you want to visit or how much time you have. Highly recommend...

We had a wonderful memory box morning in Homun. After I'd arranged online with Carlos via What's app we were met as agreed by Arturo in his bici taxi about 10.30. First he took us to rent life jackets (50pesos per person) and then we toured 3 cenotes. One semi open, one closed and one open. it was interesting to see the difference between them and for some of the time, we had them to ourselves. Each cenote was between 50-70 pesos pp to enter and you'd maybe stay 20-30 mins at each but it's up to you. There are more commercialised ones you can visit with restaurants/ lockers and changing facilities but this felt so much better. Arturo would mind your bags and take pics whilst you were jumping in or taking photos. The tour operates on a trip basis. We were out just under 3 hours and gave 400 mxn but it seems to be...

Had Alejandra as a tour guide and met up with Arturo, his family owns this Cenoté. We went to 4 different ones but this was by far the most intimate, refreshing and stunning. The hole from above allowed the sunshine at noon to shine directly into the water. The beams of light created the most wonderful atmosphere and colors. I was so at peace, It was as if I was allowed to bathe in the sacred azure waters by way of a gift from above, literally. Do not skip this Cenoté while visiting...
