Parqué Mirador is a magnificent park with a grand entrance, once inside the first thing you come upon is a statue of Miguel Hidalgo the father of the independence of Mexico. The statue sits on top of a tiny green knoll, and behind it lies the walkway to the lookout. The walkway to the lookout itself is lined with these gorgeous green trees that give off lots of shade. Once at the lookout you will be treated with glorious views of the canyon, there you will see the awesome power of nature. Here the earth has been pushed up and a river has carved a deep canyon. Sitting at about 5000 feet the gaps between the canyons are impressive and if you keep your eyes open you might even spot an Iguana. At a normal pace, it would take you around 45 minutes to go downhill and reach the historical bridge, and going uphill would take you around 1:15 hours. Definitely a challenging experience you have to try at least once if you live in the city, or if you spend more than 2 weeks in Guadalajara as a tourist and you love nature...
