Read moreI love Guadalajara and there are many amazing ways to spend an afternoon here, I just don't recommend the Lunaria.
Most of all, because it is barely a planetarium. Almost no exhibit (not even the "show" in the planetarium itself) centers on space, planets, the moon, galaxies, etc.
It is essentially a long infomercial for recycling, pollution, global warming, etc. I am all for treating the planet right but I brought by son hoping he would learn and get excited about space. If that is what you or your kids are looking for, you will likely leave disappointed.
The facilities are very attractive and I was very impressed with the science/technology part of the Lunaria... at first. More than half of the exhibits were broken (not-functioning) and the staff seemed very ill-prepared to explain the few that were working.
In the planetarium part, the first video is distractingly low resolution. It looks like an unfinished student animation project. It doesn't get much better from there. Less than 6 minutes or so is about actual outer space.

I understand the whole “taking care of the planetarium” part, however, maybe it’d work if they add a restaurant outside and just not letting people access the HQ with food?, there’s plenty of space in my opinion. I only saw 2 vending machines out of which only one was working (beverages, except for water), which by the way, are almost hidden. There’s really not much to see, many of the attractions were unavailable and they make it seem that it’s mainly for kids (saw too many of them jumping around and being noisy).
There’s a huge line to get into the show area that blocks the exits and limits your navigation inside, fix that. Don’t get me wrong, I still think this is a good place to go visit with your family, but it has a lot of work to be done.
Overall the price is good for what they have to offer. Would I go again? Absolutely. The outside area is...
