Went to this location through Vallarta Adventures as a beach day trip after scuba diving. This place was a lot of fun. A lot of fun. It is like a little cove or inlet on an island. There are chairs to relax on, a bar to get beer or non alcoholic drinks at, two different kinds of sand - the main one being more like pebbles. And also this little COLD water area that blends into the ocean. Like a creek filtering into a little pond. It had tadpoles and everything.
Pretty strong waves. If you don't have sure footing, they're definitely pushing you 10-15 feet. It was fun being with a group, because I felt safe to play in the waves without worrying it's game over if something suddenly pulled me...

The water was decent for snorkeling out near the rocks but it was still fairly wavy so visibility wasn't super great. Maybe time of year makes a difference too. I only gave 3 stars because they don't allow outside food or drink (at least with Vallarta Adventures). They searched our bags before we left even. Once there, prices are astronomical! So it is hard to enjoy a drink or food when it's so expensive. But service was great otherwise and the beach...

If you choose to go alone (i.e. not with a tourist boat $$$) pack food & beverages: there is only one beverage stand open uniquely for tourist boats; non-passengers are not allowed to access, and they close upon boat's departure. Book a roundtrip with your water taxi, and agree upon the time for the pickup.
